Excellent, lightweight upgrade to kindle!
I own the earliest kindle fire, and it still works, but it’s losing its ability to hold a charge. I’ve reached the tipping point where convenience becomes hassle, so I caved to buying a new model.I typically only use a kindle when traveling, but I broke my arm in June. I found that while the kindle fire is much easier to manage than hardcover books, I still had to use a triangular pillow to hold the fire, because it’s too heavy and awkward for one-handed long reads. (I have a bit of arthritis in my hands, too).I landed on buying the basic kindle because all of them stay charged forever nowadays, and I don’t need a color display. Secondarily I realized this one is both the cheapest and the lightest! Score!I did pay to remove the ads, and I love seeing the cover of my current book on the snoozing screen. Worth it, imho.I was shocked to find this little effer is lighter than my iPhone 16 pro! It’s easy to read in daylight or at night. I can hold it in one hand—and turn pages with the same hand!—with practice, but without fatigue.I can pick a font and spacing that replicates a book page. The last page’s faintest shadow is sometimes visible on the next screen, but it is like seeing through a sheet of paper in a real book. This is surprisingly comforting.Daytime glare is virtually nonexistent.I bought a silicone hand-strap for the back of it, but a simple pop-socket would work. (Note that it’s so lightweight it doesn’t have the heft to stay in the palm of one’s hand without fingers actively grasping it.)I love this kindle. Its compact size fits in my smallest, flattest crossbody, and it adds no weight to my load. I think it is glass-free, where the old fire has a heavy, tempered glass screen. I feel like I can read anywhere again—the new kindle will shave a pound off my carry-on (between the fire and the paperback book + magazines I usually pack for charging snafus) and makes reading at home virtually effortless.

Amazing kindle basic!!
LO AMO. Best purchase ever. This is my third kindle, and personally i love that it is slightly smaller from others I had, somehow it’s made it easier for me to read and I’ve been able to read so many books on it already. Great color, fast, great battery life, no page glitches.

Fits in My Back Pocket
I started reading leisurely about 3 weeks ago. Started on my iPad to see if I liked the Kindle experience. But, the iPad is heavy (iPad Air) and THE GLARE! I do like the following features: page real estate, color highlighting, word pronunciation. But, I decided I wanted something I could read everywhere. This Kindle, fits the bill. I can slide this into any bag, and it FITS IN MY BACK POCKET. I absolutely love it and haven’t been able to put it down, since I got it. It’s so light in the hand with or without a case. It’s so easy to read in any lighting condition. I wouldn’t consider it glare-free, but when in those conditions you’re still able to read. I do not regret my decision, worth every penny. I thought 6inches would be too small, but it’s the perfect size for my hand and needs.

I love it ♥️
This new 16GB Kindle has surprised me; I love it. Its compact and lightweight design makes it very comfortable to hold, even for long periods of reading, something that really sets it apart from previous models. The screen has an excellent contrast ratio, allowing the text to appear sharp and comfortable, simulating the experience of reading on paper quite well. Plus, page turns are faster, making reading more fluid and natural.Another strong point is the battery: it lasts for many days on a single charge, so I don't have to worry about carrying a charger with me every time I go out. The 16GB storage space is more than enough to have a very large library without having to constantly delete or replace books. As for the design, the finish is elegant and the color is really beautiful. It's a device that not only performs its primary function impeccably, but also feels modern and practical. Ultimately, I think this Kindle is a great choice for both everyday readers and those looking for a reliable device to take on the go.

Small, Mighty, and My New Favorite
I never thought I’d be this smitten with an e-reader, but the new Kindle Basic in matcha green won me over immediately. I’ve owned several Kindles over the years, but this one feels different—it’s the lightest, most portable, and most “just pick it up and read” device I’ve ever had.The first thing I noticed was the weight—or lack of it. It’s so light I can hold it in one hand without strain, even with my occasional hand aches. Page-turning with the same hand feels natural after just a little practice. The glare-free screen is crisp in daylight, gentle at night, and the battery life is laughably long compared to most tech these days.

Sleek, Light weight device. Overall happy with the purchase.
I bought this device as used. However, it arrived looking like a brand new kindle. I am happy about that.It is smaller than my previous kindle, a little wider than the average phone size and shorter. It is very light weight, lighter than the my phone.I would have preferred a the larger kindle (paperwhite) for my purpose, but for the price I paid and the condition it arrived in, a five star review is fair.I am not sure if the battery life can last as long as the seller description says it can. However, it is not too bad since I started using it.The quality is ok. I had no issues connecting to my wifi connectivity. The setup was a breeze. The screen is ok. My only issue with screen; it is a little too sensitive when I try to zoom in and out.Overall I am happy with the purchase. I only wished I had gone for the larger kindle paper white. If you are looking for a sleek, light weight kindle, give this one a try.
