If you care about understanding the scince it's a 5 star, but if you want to pass the exam you need this one and another one with a lot of facts. Sloppy work
The book has a very long-winded and grammatically unusual style which one may find irritating. More irritating is the omission of key information and the simply incorrect information, definitions and scoring systems presented throughout (the list of errors I verified even using the sources and guidelines cited within the book is just too long to mention). I seriously doubt the proofreading of this text.

Great book - if you aren't bothered about passing the exam
I bought this book, along with most other people sitting the MRCOG part 1 exam - after all, it's the text used by the very expensive RCOG revision course for the exam. I have few quibbles with the book - it is fairly well written, although it could do with more pictures, particularly in the anatomy section. My major gripe with the book is that it doesn't even contain enough information to answer all of the end-of-chapter questions, let alone the questions in the MRCOG exam. It's not a bad starting point, but don't get the idea that this is the only book you'll need to get you through the exam.
