Affordable Brightening Serum That Keeps My Glow Consistent
ANAI RUI is one of those Korean skincare brands I love and this 10% tranexamic acid serum has earned a spot in my regular rotation. I use it when I want to keep that glass-skin glow going while also staying on top of stubborn hyperpigmentation. With the combo of tranexamic acid, niacinamide, kojic acid, arbutin, and ceramides, it feels like a well-rounded formula that supports both brightness and a healthy-looking skin barrier. It has been very effective in improving hyperpigmentation not only on my face but also on the other parts of my body. The texture is light, spreads easily, and layers well under moisturizer and sunscreen. It isn’t sticky, greasy, or heavy, which matters to me because I’m consistent only when a product feels comfortable. Over time, my skin looks more radiant and even, and my dark spots stay more controlled. Price-wise, this is the kind of affordable product that performs like a much more expensive option. If you’re building a brightening routine without blowing your budget, this one is worth trying.

One of the Best dark spot serum in the market which really works.
Best serum for dark spots. OMG This one really works. It has no influencer or anything. I just randomly found this serum on Amazon, checked the ingredients, and started using it. It is a life-changer for dark spots and post-acne spots. BTW, my skin is super sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin. I used two very viral dark-spot serums that caused fungal acne or breakouts on my skin, but this one is a gem. Loved it. I came back to this again. Both 5% and 10% is great. I will recommend 5% for first-time users.

lightweight quick absorbing non-sticky and 10%!
Finally! A lightweight quick absorbing non-sticky 10% tranexamic acid serum with clinically proven supporting ingredients to tackle hyperpigmentation and melasma. I had purchased 7+ tranexamic serums searching for a nonsticky meaningful formula and read about this one. Additional skincare ingredients info/routine/results: I layer this tranexamic acid serum with a 20% L-ascorbic acid serum (pure vitamin C), an additional 2% alpha arbutin serum, and 15% Azelaic acid. I do usually wait 10-30 mins in between depending on the ingredient. I'm currently hunting for an easy 3-4% kojic acid serum to add to the mix to increase the potency. In the evenings I also use .20 retinal (retinaldehyde) aka vitamin A (a retinoid) which only has one step to convert to Retinoic acid (i began with .05 and increased the % every 2-3 weeks). FYI - unlike retinol, which requires two steps to convert to the pure form of retinoic acid and it loses some efficacy/potency along the way (it also happens to be a bit harsh for the skin to acclimate). Retinal has had the most impact on improving my skin (collagen, crows feet that were beginning to form are gone, improved my melasma and hyperpigmentation, and underlying redness is gone). I also use a several signal communicating peptides at their studied maximum recommended %'s: Syn Tacks 1%, Matrixl 3000 8%, Syn Coll 3%, Matrixyl Synthe-6 2%,Uplevity 2%, Syn-Ake 5%, Relistase 4%, and many more :-) Yes I'm throwing everything at the wall since I skincare was not in my vocabulary until about a yr ago...not even a moisturizer :-/ I'm 47 and for the first time began skincare in Dec 2023 after a lengthy research period and my reflection. Honestly I still frequently research products and read supporting studies. With my detailed skincare routine I have been able to take many years off and reverse quite a bit of sun damage (i'm a 90's kid who tans easily, didn't used to care for sunscreen, and began paying the price mid-forties). My primary issue is the constant struggle with melasma and keeping the hyperpigmentation in check. Tranexamic acid at a meaningful % is a necessary ingredient in the tool box. Thrilled I finally found a serum that works for me and layers easily with friendly ingredients. If I remember in 8-12 weeks, I’ll circle back with a results update.

Effective slow process
This helps a lot. I have been struggling with melasma for 10+years. This is so far the best product I have found. I have been using it daily under my moisturizer for over 6mo now. The spots are not completely gone, but they have lighten up very considerably. I will continue to use this serum hoping that my spots will be mostly gone in the upcoming few months. I do recommend wearing a hat and apply sunscreen as directed even on cloudy days.

I don’t have the patience, this serum needs for it to work!!
I almost discontinued and gave it to my sister. I love my actives , so I want to see results for what I’m paying for. I don’t have patience when it comes to products with activities. I have been enjoying using it right after using my jiyu toner pads because of their cooling sensation. The serum itself…i still don’t see or feel any difference in my skin texture or complexion. The serum itself is not problematic. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive/reactive skin. It is very light weight and doesn’t break me out or trigger my fungal acne. I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE DROPPER. it doesn’t get much product!! So far I am not seeing my money’s worth.

Amazing under acne patch
4 week Update: I bought Medicube 15% Niacinimide 5% Tranexamic acid and compared it to this. The brightening results are significantly underwhelming by comparison. I will say that prescription 4% hydroquinone is more effective unless you can’t use it (ie pregnancy). I don’t like the texture on this by comparison to the Medicube, which soaks in immediately. However, this is far more potent in removing pigmentation. I wish I bought more on prime day. 2 week Update: With daily application the stubborn is faded 5-10% per week (acne scars are almost completely gone). I wish I took a side by side photo but it is highly effective against sun spots if you apply it 2x a day with a silicone patch over it. I also use ordinary’s peel to speed up the exfoliation process as tranexamic acid is a much slower process than traditional Rx tretinoin + 4% hydroquinone (which also requires dedication). You really have to be diligent about this product by applying it on a schedule or IPO pico which is painful and expensive. For reference, I use a reusable eye patch that covers the sun spot on my left cheek from driving. I also added high grade vitamin C to expedite potency plus Derma stamp. It has lightened considerably. Original Review: I was initially skeptical about the 10% tranexamic acid concentration, especially since I don’t usually buy skincare products from Amazon and tend to be wary of most brands. However, this formula caught my eye because the ingredients—specifically tranexamic acid combined with niacinamide—seemed thoughtfully paired and potentially effective. To boost its impact, I also layered my own vitamin C serum on top. At the time, I was dealing with a bad breakout of hormonal acne that had left behind noticeable discoloration just days before I started using this. I applied the product directly to the affected area and then covered it with a spot patch overnight. By the next morning, I noticed that the discoloration had faded by about 20%—a noticeable difference. I also tested it on areas of sun damage, and while it still worked, the results were slower. Based on my experience, using a patch really speeds up the process. Without it, I suspect it would take several weeks to see similar results. Overall, this product seems to fade acne marks more quickly than sun spots, which aligns with how most skincare tends to perform. For context, I’ve previously used prescription treatments like 4% hydroquinone and 0.1% tretinoin at night. Compared to those, this product—with the patch—actually seems more effective for discoloration.
