You get what you pay for, and this comparatively low-cost sound bar is no bass-thumping system BUT it enhances the tv's output and provides speech and general sound clarity which I wasn't experiencing with the tv alone. Being somewhat deaf, where clarity is far more important than mere volume, this sound bar rocks my boat. One thing to watch out for: the included digital optical cable is total rubbish and simply falls out of its socket under its own weight which is minimal. I used the two cables supplied with the speaker, then tried two high quality cables (optical and 3.5mm jack) of my own with the same issue. I used a different speaker with the same source and cables which worked perfectly, as soon as I re-connect this speak it hisses all the time!!I didn't expect much from this, just to improve the TV speakers in the bedroom. However, this is a complete waste of money and I asked for a return immediately.
