Heavy, protected/encapsulated, easy to engrave with a great starting finish for lasers.
These were my 3rd attempt at finding a good quality brass coin for engraving with LaserPecker 5 engraver. They all came in individual capsules and in great shape. I felt the finish was perfect for engraving, yet easy to polish afterwards. Coin are heavy and feel very high quality compared to the 2mm and 2.5mm ones I purchased prior. I did find that depending on the type of engraving (embossed/3D vs. 2D photo, using a black matte marker first, then wiping off afterwards, resulted in a much bolder/deep engraving. Setting are still tricky with the LP5, however, these coins were exactly what I needed.

Worked great, good quality
I have the F1 Ultra from xtool. Took a few times to get the setting dialed in and engraved nicely on both sides. I didnt use a depth map rather a png from adobe illustrator with 3 different grey scale. I could have blurred a bit but I like the sharp edges from my lettering. the emboss was text and objects the grey scale was the depth and settings was 300dpi, 3000 speed, with 120 layers at 100 power and freq 30.

I'm not sure these are brass all the way through
Admittedly, I'm still very new to lasering, but the quality of the scoring and engraving where quite poor through the print. It was OK at first, but changed after a few layers and I couldn't get it cleaned up and looking nice after. It doesn't behave like other brass metal objects I have with the same settings. Did many test grid passes and the coloring doesn't match up at all.

Crafted Potential in Every Coin
The ComMarker 20 Pcs Copper Blank Challenge Coin set is more than just a bundle of metal—it’s a canvas for memory, meaning, and meticulous design. Whether you're engraving for ceremony, storytelling, or symbolic keepsakes, these coins deliver. Highlights: Premium Feel: Each coin is solid, with a satisfying weight and a rich copper tone that engraves beautifully. The 3mm thickness gives it a substantial, heirloom-like presence. Threaded Edges: The subtle texture adds a refined touch, making each piece feel finished even before engraving. Protective Acrylic Cases: Every coin arrives in its own clear box—perfect for gifting, storing, or showcasing without scratches or tarnish. Engraving-Ready: Smooth surfaces on both sides make these ideal for laser engraving, etching, or stamping. They take detail well and polish up with a brilliant luster. Versatile Use: From wedding favors to travel mementos, spiritual tokens to DIY jewelry, these coins adapt to your vision. Considerations: Real copper means they may patina over time—some see that as charm, others may want to seal or buff them. The packaging is utilitarian, not luxurious—but the coins themselves are the stars. Final Thoughts: These blanks are a dream for creators who value symbolism and craftsmanship. Whether you're engraving Adinkra symbols, Hebrew phrases, or personal poetry, they hold space for meaning. I’ve used them to mark spiritual milestones and poetic reflections—and they’ve become part of my ritual of remembrance.

Better than I expected
These are much better quality than the average coin blanks. These look and feel so much better than the coins with the inner circle I've purchased on Amazon before. These are 3 mm thick not the 2 mm coins. This is where I will be purchasing blanks from.

Edge ridges are poorly made, looks awful, brass shavings falling off. The cut uneven, not giftable.
I got a bad batch, if the seller makes it right I will update review, this is fixable and 5 stars are possible. I got full 3mm coins, and the surface finish was almost as good as the 2mm coins on Amazon. However when I opened the first plastic case up, I noticed brass burrs around the coin edge, and brass flakes were all over my fingers. The edge of the coin looks like it was cut by hand with a dull hack saw. The grooves are uneven in every way, that are uneven in depth, in visual height, and in surface level. These copings look really really bad out of the plastic case, the edge is awful and it should have been chamfered and deburred to improve the edge. Chamfering will only go so far, however, the fact is these have a very bad edge that is unsuitable for giftst or if you sell your work these are unsellable quality. If these were solid brass, they might be good test blanks for discards, except that these cost MORE than the good coins, and they are not solid brass according to some of the other reviews, so as I write this I am running an excessively deep version of a coin I designed, to see what it looks like deeper down. I will update this review with my findings. half way in, still brass...I'm running cleaning passes every other pass to keep track of the brass color.... but I have to pause and take my brass colored laser goggles off ;)... Ok, after 1.2mm deep it is still brass. My image has two more depth layers (it had 5) so it may burn past the middle before the model is done, but it is looking all brass to me. But based on the fit and finish of the edge, we are not all getting the same coins, because I haven't seen anyone else with the same complaint as myself. It seems to be brass, but not the quality one needs for challenge coins. The edge is the only part that comes finished, and if it is bad, the whole coin is bad.
