Great paddle for beginners. Good price and quality. Has the texture surface which helps a lot with control. Grip is very nice and made for big hands. I have a small hand but it fits nicely. Well spent money. There is no cover.

I've been using a starter paddle that came in a set of 4. This is definitely an upgrade. The grip is a little shorter than my starter paddle, but it is much more grippy. The face is longer than my starter pale, and has a texture to allow more control and spin on the ball. The edge bumpers feel well-attached. It is lighter than my starter paddle. I see this as a step up for a recreational player like myself who plays frequently, but isn't looking to win competitive tournaments. It's a big step up in quality over a starter set, but I imagine the improvements to step up to a professional paddle beyond this a would be more incremental.

The paddle is light weighted, and the size is perfect for almost any play style and grip! The balance on this paddle is more towards the front end, easier to swing and provides more accuracy even for the amateur players. Very noob friendly, strongly suggest any new pickleball players to grab one of these, and move up to their higher tier products! The almost perfect starter paddle money can buy!!

I got this paddle as I was starting to get more into pickleball. This paddle has proved to be a night and day difference compared to cheap paddles that are found in big box stores. The bigger size allows for a bigger sweet spot and the surface has a rough finish, which allows for you to put a better spin on balls. I think this paddle is best if you are a beginner or intermediate as it allows you to progress your skills without breaking the bank. I was scared of the surface wearing out too fast, but so far, there surface remains in like-new condition despite me having played a few hours using this paddle already.

I am a fan of the SLK line of paddles form Selkirk. This is an affordable paddle that has good performance. The grip size is a standard small, at 4.25 inches. The Max shape has a better sweetspot compare to elongated versions. As a beginner this is a very good all around paddle. The surface is reasonably grippy again for a beginner grade paddle. One other non functional feature that I like about the SLKs are that they come in different color combination. while players should label their paddles anyway, the colors do help people identify their own paddle.
