I finally found them!
After many years of searching I found exactly what I was looking for: comfort, ease of use, great sound, and great ANC. To be honest I am not an audiofile and I honestly never found earbuds that quite fit me and was satisfied with until now. So take that into consideration. Let me start. The Link buds are comfortable! So much so you may need to check from time to time they are still in your ear. The rubber horn on the end is hallow and is what keeps the bud in your ear. Once you wedge this horn correctly the link buds stay in your ear! I have never had ear buds that could stay in my ear like this. Not even Will Ferrell listening to "what is love" can knock these things out! The Link buds fit has great active noise canceling! I went to a carnival last night and the anc was amazing. I was able to clearly hear the music while a live band was playing, while standing next to the loud carnival rides, and hear the music clearly even in the crowds. No matter where I was at I could clearly hear the music. I even tested out audio books and yt. No issues hearing the words. I do have to mention i had to install the Sony sound connect app on my phone to get ANC to work. Audio quality when listening to music was clear and the bass was strong (another thing that can be adjusted in sound connect). Update: no issues listening to music or podcasts on a bus. Some negative points: The price. These earbuds are more exepnsive then majority of the competition but considering what the Link bud fit provides, I consider it completely worth it since they would be great for commuting, exercising, or just about anything. Not good if your with your family at the carnival when they are trying to talk to u. 😉. Not really a fan of how it pairs with devices, the button is on the case. That's it for now. I may update my review at a later date, good or bad. For now my first impression is that this is a definite buy!

Massive good sound, even on Spotify
Great sound, arguably a MATCH for my Sony WH-1000XM5 over-ear cups. Better than over ear in so many ways - the NC is fantastic, and the sound profile sounds true, even with Spotify… Bass and good Highs too, the APP allows EQ tuning too. These do not squeeze my head like the banded-over-ears do over time. No sweaty ear-cups, no weird ear shape from being ‘viced’ (cartilage keeps growing, even after you die) ; No bald-rub where the band pulls hair out, No bacteria and other nasties in the petri-dish cups …Far easier to control with or without the App. Negatives, They are difficult to fit if your ear-hole is not perfectly round (like the duds that use foam-earplugs every day, I SEE BRAIN, No wait that ain't brain…) They are not “immersion water proof”, and they claim to be rated “Sweat proof”. They are easily knocked off the ear, shirts, hoodies, and hats make it easy for one, or both, pop pot and land on the ground. The batteries discharge at different rates, by about 35 minutes of play time. The batteries, before ONE of them shuts down for ‘low batt’, will last almost 3.5 hours continuous play, the “other headphone” will keep playing for up to 35 minutes, this is the longest out of 18 recharges I charted. A small “peeve” is the thickness/size/design of the Charger Case … MAKE IT EASY TO CARRY IN A PANT POCKET?? It is not, and it is not even pretty enough to show my friends… Considering the excellent pricing, with sound better than Sony’s, including Noise Canceling I would buy another pair if I do, finally, lose one of them. These are less than 1/2 $$$ of my Sony Over Ears.

These are so awesome
I bought these in “very good” condition. Came in a plain generic box but came with a charging cable and all the tips. I bought these to alternate with my Beats Fit Pro when I workout. I was not expecting much but WOW, I forgot that Sony made quality earbuds. The app is awesome, very useful. I love that they greet you after you put them on “good morning” “good afternoon” etc.. and proceed with the date. Also tells you the time every hour. “It’s three o clock pm” and so on. The sound is the best part. Very balanced and crisp. They are very very lightweight and fit comfortably in your ear so much that you forget you’re wearing them. Sony hit a home run with these. I’m so impressed I’m gonna start buying more Sony earbuds in the future. If I had to choose between my beats fit and my Linkbuds fit, I’ll choose these. Oh, you don’t need to tap the actual earbud, you can tap below and around your ear instead. How cool is that? The app has so many cool features, too much to list here. The case is so tiny, like tiny tiny, I just wish Amazon or anyone would make a hard shell case for it with a carabiner. I just carry it in a generic pouch that came with other earbuds(but no carabiner). I don’t like the soft silicone ones. The ANC isn’t anything special but it’s a workout earbud so total noise cancellation isn’t a good idea. This also has transparency mode. These are the perfect workout/jogging earbuds. Get them used if you can, save some of your hard earned money

Atrociously bad tap controls
I compared three earbuds in the same bracket: - Sony LinkBuds Fit - Bose QuietComfort Ultra - Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 Sony LinkBuds Fit 🟊☆☆☆☆ The tap controls are highly unreliable. When tapping a bus twice (carefully, directly on the earbud), it might register zero taps, one tap, or two taps. Thus, your two taps will randomly do nothing, pause the music, or skip the track. Frustrating. I perceived no improvement on sound quality over my old $50 Anker Space A40s. Furthermore, Sony's setup app is malware: it hides among the legal agreements an "Agree" to data sharing. I don't know what Wirecutter is smoking; I liked nothing about these. Bose QuietComfort Ultra 🟊🟊🟊☆☆ I was so close to loving these. The noise cancelling is incredible. The "Immersive Mode" brings music to life in a way I hadn't experienced with earbuds. However, the deal killer was that the earbuds would disconnect from my phone every few minutes. This is apparently a common issue. Additionally, the tap controls are better than Sony's, but still bad: you're supposed to slide your finger along it to change the volume, but this often registers as a tap. All this said, you might nevertheless want to try these with your phone and cross your fingers that they can stay connected, because the noise cancelling and sound is that good. If they work for you, you've won the lottery, and you're a lucky bastard. Odds are, though, it will be glitchy and unreliable for you, too. Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 🟊🟊🟊🟊🟊 Great, reliable tap controls. Noise cancelling and sound is not quite as good as the Bose QuietComfort, but still sounds great. Stays connected. Doesn't force you to use a crappy app. Comfortable. Has a premium look to it. Ultimately, you want earbuds that sound good, stay connected, and aren't frustrating to use. This is it.

Tinny for podcasts
I’ve had these for about a year now. The sound on podcasts or anything with a human voice is terribly tinny. The tap controls are awful- too many taps required and tapping right on my ear so it’s loud. Plus it’s confusing so I had to keep a cheat sheet in my phone notes. They don’t simply pair with a new device. I have to use the app on my phone to switch to my iPad, for example, or else download another app to my iPad. The sound for music, and the noise cancelling are both great for me, and I like how they stay put, unlike iPods, but overall they weren’t worth it. I don’t understand why they are top pick from Wirecutter. I’m thinking of going back to iPods

linkbuds fit purple
These sound 9/10, great bass, clear highs. More than good enough for bassy music and action video games. Fit is 9/10, I'm an average sized dude and the rubber fins could be a bit bigger to really lock in, maybe they'll offer that in gen 2. But the rubber keeps them locked in for any activity, and still very comfortable thanks to very short nozzles. Touch controls are 4/10. Maybe because rubber covers the touch area, these almost never recognize finger taps. I have so many earbuds that this isn't a deal breaker, as I rarely rely on onboard controls anyway. Every earbud company likes to have their own convoluted control scheme, and they change the controls per every earbud, so why bother learning any of it? Ain't nobody got time for that. Battery life is average, with all sound enhancement turned off. 8-10 hours at around 75% volume. Price is kind of high tbh, but they're way better than any of my cheaper earbuds. After a few weeks, I like these a lot. Might even get an extra pair.

Buy something else
They are functioning earbuds but the noise cancelling is garbage and will ruin your ears with a piercing high pitch sound at any moment. They stay in your ears ok but the wing tips don't touch my ears so they are useless. They sound fine overall and the case works but is cheap plastic.

All day comfort, won't fall out and great sound.
This is a great set of headphones. I was looking for something small that would work for my workouts and these tick all the boxes. They're so comfortable when wearing them, you don't even remember that you have them on. Other workout headphones have tips and clips so that it stays on your ear, but the small silicone tips do the job so well and they're so soft. The noise cancelling works well but it won't give you pin drop silence since they don't plug into your ears and seal them shut. I'm more than happy with that because that's what I wanted. I don't want to have to take them out or put in awareness mode. They connect easily to my Pixel phone, tablet and PC, plus they have multipoint so I can connect them to two devices at the same time and easily switch back and forth. The sound is great and you have the EQ to adjust as your preference. I was looking everywhere for headphones that I can wear all day, that are comfortable and don't easily fall out and these are perfect for that.
