Galaxy Tab s10 Ultra
Like a lot of people, I love technology. I’ve always collected whatever new device I can. I’ve always been primarily a PC Desktop user, but I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite once, to dip my toes into tablets, and fell in love. Currently, I own the S6 Lite, Kindle Fire 6 and 10, iPad Air 5 and both an Xperia and Samsung A14 phone. I didn’t need this high-end tablet, but I’ve been wanting it a lot for a long time. I finally bit the bullet during the sale and picked the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra up for around £800. I also own a Chromebook, an Echo Show and numerous gaming devices. I’m bringing this up for compatibility reasons, which I will get into later. The presentation: For such a high-priced, premium product, this was underwhelming. The box is very thin itself, with very little in it. It comes with a USB-C Charging cable, some manuals, but that’s about it. The Setup: This was incredibly easy. Being Android, it can use a Google account. It gave me the option to copy my details and settings over. I believe there was even an option to do so from my iPad. I chose my Sony Xperia, it took a few moments, and everything was done. Once you’ve tweaked your settings, you’re ready to go. However, I would advise going to the Settings and finding the Tablet update, as I ended up using the tablet for a few days without realising this needs a manual update. It was updated to the OneUI 7. There is also the Samsung things to deal with. I would recommend making an account for full functionality. The Software: The tablet comes with quite a fair bit pre-installed, some could possibly be from my previous device, although I did try to make sure everything was as manual as possible. You’ll find plenty of Samsung apps like Bixby or Google Assistant, which you can choose to make your default. There’s also a Samsung Pass, where you can store your passwords securely. I found this a little buggy personally. For the most part, the tablet could draw my details from Google, and I’d have a quick and seamless login process for most things. Having access to both the Google Play Store and the Samsung store, there’s very little you won’t find. All the power!: The tablet is extremely powerful, at least for an Android tablet. I haven’t come across anything I can’t do yet. I’ve played quite a few hefty games, including Genshin Impact, which managed to hold a 60 FPS frame rate. I do a lot of drawing, and I have had no issue here either. Pen strokes are smooth, fast and responsive. Loading apps is very quick, and with a dynamic 120Hz screen, scrolling and browsing is super smooth. This is more than functional to use as a main computer, and with the Samsung Dex, it’s an incredible experience. I do have a gripe here, however, and that is the onscreen keyboard. I find typing on it, not an enjoyable experience. It’s overly sensitive, and I don’t like the autocorrect. You can, of course, change to Gboard, and if you have an external keyboard (or the Samsung Book) then it is a much more enjoyable experience. I’m very much into art. I have the pencil on my iPad, the S-pen on my S6 Lite, and I also have a dedicated drawing tablet on my PC. Out of all of this, I like the S10 Ultra’s Pen the most, although it is very close to the S6 Lite S-Pen. It snaps to the back of the device, and it holds well. The Screen: This is phenomenal. It’s such a beautiful screen. The dynamic 120Hz (which is mainly for scrolling, it’s adaptive between 60-120, swapping between the two when needed to save battery life) is so smooth. The colours are bright, vivid and eye-popping. The resolution is good, as is the PPI. However, the drawback is that it’s not a true 4k, so apps like Netflix or other streaming services will only lock you in 1080p, which I feel is a big shame. YouTube will work in 4k HDR, however, and it’s glorious! I love the aspect ratio. I have put a tempered glass panel on mine, and it is still responsive. There’s even a toggle in the settings to increase the sensitivity for this. The Speakers: I don’t have a lot to add for this, but they are fantastic. By far the best sounding speakers I’ve heard on a tablet. The quad speakers and Dolby Atmos produce a really impressive sound. It’s surprising how much something so small can produce. Compatibility: I’ve found this fantastic to just work seamlessly with most of my devices, whether that’s to send a photo or connect to my PC. Whether it’s to act as a remote with my NVIDIA Shield device, or Stream games from GeForce Now, Game Pass, Luna, etc. Connecting an external mouse, keyboard, and controller, all perfect. Using it to turn off my lights or act as a smart home? Great! I feel like there’s very little this can’t do!... However, I don’t use it for absolutely everything. You can, but one of its best points is also its worst. The size of the screen, especially with a case, can make this quite tiring to hold. Of course, using it in tent mode (with a case) or on a stand, that’s all well and good, but sometimes you just want to laze around in bed. It’s a little too large to do this for long. Other notable things: Security features are good, you can use your face, fingerprints etc. The fingerprint scanner is fine, but on the screen (and it is a fingerprint magnet!) I also am not overly impressed with the battery life. It’s good, it’s not amazing. It will last all day, but it does take a couple of hours to charge to full. If you want it at its max brightness, battery life will go down considerably. You don’t, of course, need it at max brightness. This is a premium product and it certainly feels like one. Overall, while there’s a few things I’m not overly impressed by, there’s nothing I am unimpressed by and most things, I’m in blown away by. The things that really matter however, are all top-notch and I couldn’t be more pleased with it.

I was expecting a lot... I got it,, and much more... Superb!
Utterly Incredible piece of kit. And I really did a ton of research before buying, but kept coming back to the S-10 Ultra. I have never owned an OLED screen before,- (this is AMOLED, which is even better.) -and now can definitely see what all the fuss is about. And the screen is simply incredible, and HUGE!! The audio through the four speakers, you could not ask for better. It sounds like using external surround. Watching a movie on Netflix the other night, at one point it was like I was sitting 3 feet from a river on my right. I actually looked round, lol, yep. 😋 Its very loud when pumped up, with loads of base. The tablet, as you would expect from a flagship model of Samsung incredibly fast, powerful, and smooth as butter. And the S-pen is super responsive. And I haven't scratched the surface yet. I primarily bought it for drawing using Clip Studio Paint, as a mobile option. As well as using it for iFIT on my bike. And tethering, plus remote gaming via Steam. But even so far using it for browsing, streaming, YT. And playing with the AI on it. I am so pleased I went for this model. Absolutely recommend this tablet.

Good lunch if you lose your pen!
Tablet is decent if too big, but I got it because I wanted to use the S-pen for drawing. You know the tiny little pen that can be knocked off if it brushes up against anything? Samsung doesn't sell a like for like replacement - only a downgrade that takes batteries. That is unacceptable. How can they sell such an expensive device and not offer replacements? They don't even provide any information about the differences on their website and list pens for S9 and S10 series that many people would mistakenly buy thinking they had the same functionality, when they don't. I've spent days trying to get a straight answer about this. Rubbish. I won't be buying another Galaxy tablet that's for sure.

Poor Battery Life.
Love the Tablet apart from the battery life only lasting around 10 hours.
