How far is the button located from the end of the cord that goes into the wall, and what is the length of cord that is left after the button?

Yeah, I wish I would have asked this question because the foot switch has to be closer to outlet than I would like. From wall to foot pedal is about 32 inches. From foot pedal to end of cord is about 72 inches.

Do these save money on electric bill?

no, they are meant to save usage, wear and tear on delicate on/off switchs found on some lamps, ect.

Please be more specific. What does this mean? You plug into wall outlet. You plug the device into extension. The foot tap turns device on or off.
