The trickiest part is attaching the seatback to the seat mechanism--it must be done upside down with the seatback toward the floor. My only slight disappointment is that the arms slide forward and backward quite easily--I unintentionally extend them when moving about forward and backward in the chair. It was easy to put together, he's 16 and did it himself. His only complaint...he does not like the arms - does not like the fact that the arm piece can go back and forth and there seems to be no way to lock it. Color and styling was nice. Back support is good. One thing to remember to keep in mind when buying an office chair is that it fits nicely under the desk. We assumed it was "standard" and it's not - the chair is a bit wider than the space the current desk provides.
