Shark POWERDETECT Ultra-Light Corded Stick Vacuum with DuoClean Technology, Self-Cleaning Brushroll for No Hair Wrap, Anti-Allergen Complete Seal, and Odor Neutralizer Technology, HZ4002

I'm absolutely blown away by this vacuum. I own two upright vacuums, a Kirby and a Hoover, also two handheld portable vacuums, and I hated to vacuum. It was always a cumbersome chore. I have arthritis in both wrists and it was hard to carry those vacuums around. I avoided vacuuming my house! Yesterday I assembled the Shark Powerdetect and FELL IN LOVE! It is lightweight, powerful and extremely user friendly. It's easy to go from handheld back to upright, and the suction is outstanding. I don't know if it's because I didn't vacuum very much before, but I've gotten a tremendous amount of dirt and pet hair up. ( I own two large dogs and 4 cats). I especially like the way the vacuum moves, and it easily goes under countertops. If I need to get into a corner I can easily detach the powerhead with the wand to make an instant handheld. Literally taking seconds. As I've told my husband, it's the best thing I've ever bought for my house.

This vacuum cleaner is amazing. It is lightweight which is important to those of us whose muscles have seen better days; yet it is incredibly powerful. It's shocking and embarrassing how much dirt the Shark picked up on the first pass over our living room carpeting. The dirt cup capacity will be fine once we get our carpeting under control. It's also dog shedding season and the Shark does an outstanding job with our yellow lab's last year's leftover hair. We've always owned uprights with bags in the past so were a bit hesitant to try something different, but the dust cup very quick and easy to empty into the trash bin. We are very happy with our puchase.

I purchased this vacuum to replace a Dyson DC 41 Animal that finally had enough broken parts that I didn't see the point in spending any more money on it. After doing some research, I found that this model was highly rated in several categories, so I went ahead and purchased it.Overall I'm very happy with it. It does a great job and picking up cat hair. The Dyson did a good job, but this vacuum seems to get a lot more. The device is reasonably light weight and is quite easy to move around. I purchased the corded version because I wasn't really bothered by using a corded machine and I figured this would be a little more powerful.The device has some interesting features. It comes apart in different ways so you can use it on stairs, to clean a car, etc. It has a few attachments. One of them was quite good at getting cat hair out of a blanket the cats like to sleep on.There are a few things that I wish were better, but these are mostly minor issues. I wish the machine was slightly wider. It's less than a foot wide and just having one or two more inches would be good. The dirt collector is tiny. I realize this isn't a big vacuum like the Dyson, but with our cats it takes no time at all to fill up the collector. It's easy to dump out, but it would be nice if it were a little bigger.The vacuum will work on shorter, plush carpet, but sometimes it can be a bit of work to push it. Sometimes it seems to go quite easily, other times it seems to be more draggy. I'm happy with the way it cleans, so this is just a minor annoyance. It works great on rugs, although you have to be careful if you use it on a very thin rug since it can easily be sucked into the base.I wish the machine came with some sort of 'dusting' attachment. I would like something with soft bristles that could be used to clean up areas that are hard to reach with the full vacuum but are really appropriate for the current set of attachments.The final issue concerns the cord. It's a minor thing, but the cord is really stiff and it doesn't 'roll out' easily. My machine is new so maybe it will relax as time goes on, but right now it tends to get caught on things because the bends in the cord from storing it tend not to relax. A minor quibble and it makes me wonder if the cordless device would have been a better choice.

Not sure I have ever fallen in love with a stick vacuum before but this is possibly my first time. It is just an all-around fantastic vacuum.Out of the box it is very easy to assemble. Literally takes less than 5 minutes to open the box, take the parts out and put it together. Three tools are included; Crevice Tool, Upholstery Tool and Pet Power Brush. Also included is an Odor Neutralizer Technology Cartridge which you can choose to use or not. I actually like the scent and it really does help eliminate that "I'm vacuuming so ignore the smell" smell that you usually get. When it will eventually need to be replaced in a few months it is easy to do..You can hang the crevice tool and the upholstery tool off the main vertical aluminum tube of the vacuum and that makes it easy to grab a tool when you need it rather than searching for it in the closet. The Pet Power Brush is too large to travel with the vacuum. That tool works really well though.The vacuum itself has dual brushes and wow, they are so effective. I spilled rice all over the floor and this vacuum grabbed every single piece of rice with no going. back and forth for 5 minutes. One swipe forward and one swipe backwards and it got all the rice off the floor. Every other vacuum I've ever owned would push the rice around and it would have taken much longer. Just forget about expecting other vacuums to suck it up when you're pulling the vacuum backwards. This one is effective forwards and backwards. It's actually amazing.This vacuum is so much quieter than any other vacuum I've owned. I mean, it is a vacuum and is not whisper quiet, but it is definitely not a jet engine in your living room either. It's just not nearly as obnoxious as most vacuums are.I am sick and tired of cordless devices that constantly need to be recharged. Cordless Vacuums in particular never seem to run more than 15 minutes if you're lucky before needing to be recharged. And Cordless vacuums do not have as much suction. This is corded so never needs to be recharged. It's more powerful too and has a very long cord so you can get more done in less time and don't have to be unplugging and re-plugging in the cord all the time.The "Detect" feature really works. You can go from concrete floor to rug and the machine automatically adjusts the brushes RPM. It works flawlessly for me. If you want you can override the Detect feature and manually choose Carpet or Hard surface.The cord, while it is nice is long, is also nice and stiff. Especially right out of the box it is somewhat kinked at each bend but if you spend a few minutes to reverse bend the kinks, it will make your life much more pleasant. The cord is attached to the vacuum at the top part of the handle so it does not get in your way when you vacuum. I've had other machines in which the cord goes into the machine near the bottom somewhere and the cord is always getting in my way when I vacuum.The dust collection cup has a smallish capacity but it is so easy to take it off to empty that I don't consider that an issue to be bothered with.There are 3 filters, two of them at the top of the dust cup assembly while the HEPA filter is above that in the handle part. All of the filters are easily washed to be reused over and over, just make sure they dry completely before putting them back in the vacuum.Shark did an incredible job developing this vacuum. I absolutely love it.
