How heavy is umbrella. Above info says shipping weight is 1lb, but product weight is 7lb.

It is a nice weight, but not as thick as canvass. It comes in a matching fabric case along with two poles. I also ordered from Amazon the Quick & Easy In-Ground Umbrella Stand Pole Holder $12.97 + $4.08 shipping sold by FixFind. If you need this it is a very sturdy green plastic cork screw type holder with two orange handles that fold down for easy screwing into the ground, and then folds back up out of the way. You can then sit your umbrella pole inside that for a good and sturdy anchoring.

Are the ribs metal or fiberglass?

Metal. One problem however. I ordered what I thought was a plain black umbrella as the picture showed, but it came with 4 huge University of Georgia logos and we were disappointed . The umbrella is very good quality however.

Does this fit into an umbrella base to use on a deck or patio?

Yes, it will. We have a small balcony-sized table and this umbrella fits perfectly-not too big, not too small.

Needed an umbrella poolside and coupled this with a clamp on umbrella stand that attaches to a deck railing. This umbrella while not terribly expensive is perfect. Breaks down and sets up in seconds, is in a quality case, tilts, and is just the right size. I wouldn’t leave it on overnight given local weather changing but as a temporary sun shade u can’t go wrong. If I needed a beach umbrella to stick in the sand this would be my first choice. Seems extremely durable. Recommend. Update**** Does not handle breeze well. 2nd season and half of the plastic end holders for the ribs have broken. I would say the winds were moderate(we don’t leave it up except when in use.. Not particularly durable.
