I ordered this kids microscope for a 9 year old, inquisitive granddaughter. It’s ideal for her because she’s curious about things and loves cats. The microscope comes nicely boxed and includes a short USB-C charging cable and printed instructions. The head of the microscope is shaped like a cat which adds to its cute appeal for kids. It does not feel very sturdy and is built with cheap plastic, so care in handling will be needed. It has a rechargeable battery which eliminates need for buying batteries.After charging it up, I tried out the microscope. It has a menu that lets you select from some built-in games, changing the language (default is English), and managing photos taken with the microscope. You can also adjust the amount of time before the microscope turns itself off to conserve battery power. The instructions refer to setting day/date, but I could find no option to do this. Small buttons on the microscope enable you to select between three different view magnifications. The highest magnification is 40x, which is high enough to see the whorls on fingers. It’s worth noting that the base of the microscope needs to be put directly on top of what you’re inspecting for it to focus properly. The viewing screen is small, but a photo can be taken by pressing a button. Photos are stored on a built-in memory card (not replaceable) and can be transferred to a computer using the included USB-C cable.Overall, for the price, this is a cute handheld microscope that is age appropriate for kids to explore the texture of things of interest to them like leaves, bugs, coins, etc. The only real negative is its not built very sturdy, so it will not tolerate rough handling.

This is such a cute magnifying glass with all the bells and whistles.This is for my toddler grandson and he did not want to part from it.It was a little tricky to get the magnifying clear, but once that was figured out, all was great.The snap shots and playback is so thrilling for him.We had a great time "exploring" leaves on the patio.He was a super sleuth looking to discover every detail.. even on canned goods.This cute, educational toy is very affordable and giftable and a great attention span builder.Supervision is needed with the toddler/younger kids and educating them NOT to look into the light on the flip side.The glass performs as advertised.Great fun.
