XP7HP 208cc Recoil Start Gas Powered 50 State Approved, Multi-Use Engine, XP7HP, Blue

I got the XP7HP version. It's a good little engine. The recoil starter bolts are metal, not plastic, which I like. The engine is extremely loud, the silencer may as well not even be there. The only quality issue I found was odd wear on the crankshaft counterweight. Keep in mind I have not run the engine yet when this photo was taken, it was brand new out of the box. That wear is from the factory. But the engine still works, so I'm not going to complain about it on a $200 engine. The rocker arms were oiled, and looked good. After I reassembled it it started on the third pull. Then after that it has always started on the first pull. It's no high performance engine, but it gets the job done.

The 208cc engine is nice and compact, it came in a very good condition, very Light in weight, has a lot of torque more than necessary although it can get a little noisy. Used it for a minibike project and this engine does not let down, definitely would recommend and if necessary I would buy again.

Bought this to re-power a log splitter. Changed from a vertical shaft 6.5 HP Briggs. Other than the expected mods to make it fit, this engine is faster, more powerful and starts on the first pull. Very pleased. This is the second Duromax engine I have, the other is on a generator. Very pleased with that as well.

Design of location of exhaust port SUCKED! I needed this engine for a leaf vac and the muffler location prevented the turbine shroud and turbine from being mounted. I had to rig it with an exhaust elbow and a different muffler altogether, which I was able to get here at Amazon. But it added delays expenses unplanned for. Also, the added labor cutting the new muffler pipe to fit increased my time away from actually doing the lawn care! But, in the end the thing worked. The engine seems to do the job, and in fact has a greater RPM than the original, which means greater suction and leaf/grass/detritus removal. Had the muffler been originally mounted in a better location, saving me a lot of work and delay (ordering and waiting on more parts) I would have given it five stars. Still, it was cheaper than an engine from the lawn-vac people @$900. That’s why I didn’t give it THREE stars.

I had a chipper-shredder from 1995 with a Tecumseh 5 HP engine on it and the engine was frozen. I unbolted the old engine and looked around for a suitable replacement. I considered a Honda engine but it was too expensive for my limited chipping needs. So I bought a Duromax engine. Before I mounted it on the chipper I ran it a bit to break it in. I filled it with gas and oil and it started immediately and easily. So far, this engine starts on the first pull every time. To break it in, I ran the engine for 1 hour at various speeds and then changed the oil. I could see silvery metal material in the oil, as expected, as the piston and cylinder did a break-in. I might not have seen this with a precision Honda engine, but maybe even so. I ran the engine again for 1 hour and when I drained the oil the second time, it was looking pretty good. I refilled the oil (so that's round 3) and attached the engine to my chipper. That required some metalwork since the bolt pattern was not identical to my old Tecumseh but a hour with a grinder did the trick. I've run this chipper for about 6 hours since then and it works better than ever. The engine is reasonably quiet (chipping is very loud) and has started easily every time. At 10 hours, I will change the oil 1 more time and then I assume to get a few years out of this rig. Overall, a good deal. A new 7HP chipper might cost $800-1000 so this is a cost-effective solution and more eco-friendly.

My 5hp motor on the snow blower finally gave out last winter 2021. In December of 2022 I finally bought this 7hp DuroMax. Best choice I made. I have used it now 4 times and has plenty of power to get through the last snow storm of 8 inches. I am very happy with it. I didn't give it a rating on longevity as I have only had it for 2months now. For durability it starts on the second pull and I haven't been able to bog it down.

Recoil starter broke the second time used. Made of plastic... The cup that the starter engages also broke. I called MAX Tool, who is the seller, I sent them pics and they assured me they knew what I needed. The confirmation came back and the cup was left off the order. I called Senatra at MAX Tool back and said it was left off and he reassured me that he called the warehouse and I would get both parts. Of course I didn't get the cup so I called yesterday and had to leave a message. No return call... I called back today and finally got someone and they say they will send out the correct part this time. I requested faster than standard mail (which is what they used last time). They don;t know how to do that or won't. It appears to be a junk motor too. Even the entire flywheel is plastic. Never seen that before...

Used for tiller. Started first pull. Plenty if power. Well worth the money @
