doesn't leak
One of the other posters said it leaked. Bringing the vacuum down to -30" Hg with an oil pump and then disconnecting the oil pump, the pressure gauge didn't move in 30mins (ie much less than 1" Hg). On reapplying the vacuum pump, the needle on the gauge didn't move. I'd say it doesn't leak.

Works Perfect for Degassing Silicone
For my uses of degassing silicone, this is the perfect size for smaller quantities that I use to cast small parts. Not much to really break or malfunction. Just a SS pot, thick acrylic lid, rubber gasket seal and the gauge/valves. So far, so good..

Seems like a good value for the price.
Well...it works. So far so good. I assembled it...hooked to my vacuum pump..drew it down tp 28Hg .closed the valves on it and unhooked my vacuum and left it overnight. Much to my surprise....it dropped only to 27.5 I can live with that. I guess only time will tell how long it lasts.....

Much nicer then best value vacs, great value
I have been using this for a few weeks and so far its great, when it arrived the oil cap on the gauge was a little unseated and small dribble of oil, really just a minor thing. the hose it comes with looks like generic A/C hose but works nicely and is pretty flexible. word of advise is if your gauge does not read accurately be sure to pull the rubber cap off your gauge so it will adjust to the atmosphere where you are. mine sucked in some air when I got it.really the only thing I am disappointed about is that its a shallow 2qt canister. Wether that's a positive or negative will depend on your use. So if you have a 2qt paint mixing cup it wont fit in your chamber. I fixed that with a Volrath 78730 stainless steel pot off eBay which is a 3qt capacity and tall and fits the lid perfect. Was only $20 shipped and still cheaper altogether than the best value vacs stuff and uses serviceable parts. be sure to put some release wax down inside your chambers for easy cleanup of your resins.
