Excellent Improvement over the throw of the OEM shift pattern.
The actual installation of this part is a breeze. Getting the air box out to get to where this part goes can be trying, but worth the effort for sure. One simple suggestion would be to take a few small micro fiber towels or shop cloths out and lay just below the area you are going to be working. If you drop and bolt, screw or even an socket while working on the Focus ST the aforementioned part will drop down in to the abyss of the engine compartment. It can take much longer to find a dropped 8mm socket than the entire installation of this part should take by a power of 10....just saying, don't ask how I know, please. The instructions are spot on, however if you are a video watching individual there are a few excellent videos on line to view before doing the actual install.Do be sure to try out the new shift pattern before reassembly of every thing under the hood. I had set my throw reduction to 30 percent and after trying it out changed to the 40 percent setting. It's all a matter of personal preference as to what feels right. All in all, I would say this was money well spent and place this into the "Bang for the Buck" improvement category.

Great helpful quality piece
This pc works great. The price is better than the other brands out there for the ST/RS. It's very high quality. It takes less time to install than it does to get the airbox and pipes out of the way to install it. Still no longer than 20 minutes or so all together. I DID have a rough time initially - but I was holding the bottom plate up tight to the Shifter Arm you install this around. I called FSWERKS directly - they called me back and were REALLY nice - very helpful and understanding. Said they would take it back full refund if I couldn't get it - didn't make me feel like I was in idiot :) When I gave it another try like they suggested - very very easy ! And you don't have to REMOVE the stock shifter arm ( bang the pin out etc ) The 3 levels of shifter throw reduction are a great feature. I put in on 40 % - I LOVE it. Great great low cost easy DIY pc. !

Exactly as expected!
There are multiple options to shorten the throw of the Focus ST shifter. I went with this due to reviews in various forums and the fact that it is reverseable if necessary.Install was a breeze. I had already removed my symposer so I had plenty of room. If you have that done you only have to move two hoses to install this, not remove the whole airbox. I had installed aluminum bearings prior (do this at the same time if you haven't). Total install time for this was less than 30 minutes. I have zero mechanical aptitude, by the way. My primary experience modifying cars is applying stickers. Really, it is as easy as changing a light bulb. Before adding the Loctite I checked each position, and I settled on 30% reduction. Obviously, it's a personal preference thing, but 40% was crazy short for me. I am running a weighted shift knob that makes my shifter about 1/2 an inch taller than stock. A weighted shift knob is not necessary, but I highly reommend one. With all this together, my shifts are now crisp and quick. The shifter feels more like one in a rear-wheel drive car. It snaps into the gates, no doubt when in gear. The car should have come like this from the factory. If you have a Focus ST you should doing the bearings and install this as soon as you are able.Best mod you can do, and it's only $100!

Don't drop your watch in the engine bay....
So... This product does exactly as it is supposed to. Let me explain! I have always loved my Focus ST. Never had any real complaints until I test drove an ND Miata. That was when I noticed the shifter throws. Sure, they have always been notchy in the FoST but then I noticed how long they were. Suddenly I felt like I was shifting the lever further than what seemed necessary. I kept noticing how much I had to use my arm to shift properly. It was not short and sweet like the ND. Then I realized the time I grind gears was because I was moving my foot off the clutch faster than my hand was moving the gear shift. My soul hurt Everytime that happens. Every. Time. Well... Then I ordered the FSWERKS shifter bracket. My God does it make a world of difference!!!! Installation was very simple. You sandwich the 2 pieces together, insert 3 bolts and adjust the ball joint to your desire. The challenging but was taking the air box out of the ST. know that the air box is only held in place by 3 (three) grommets. Just pull up decently hard ( after following the included instructions of course). Oh!!! And take off your watch unless you want to risk it coming off your wrist and falling into the engine bay. I can neither confirm nor deny that I had to fish my watch out of the engine bay. Ultimately, having driven with the bracket for a few weeks now, I love it!!! I really hadn't thought about an ND until I was wrtitthi review. the FoST is my daily and I have not had any issues. I will say that getting into first or second is only mildly more difficult but it's very doable. I am using an acrylic shift knob so it doesn't weigh much. Nevertheless, I love the bracket. Super easy to install and it works like it's supposed to. I feel like it's given the FoST new life.

Easy install for a big difference
I set mine at the lowest setting(20%) just to try it out and I felt a big difference already and decided to keep it at that. I wouldn’t recommend going to the 40%, the STs are known for synchros being on the weaker end already and shortening your throws by almost half, I feel, would lead to premature wear, so just keep that in mind. I paired these with solid shifter bushings and motul multidct fluid and it has completely transformed the trans, very mechanical notchiness which some may not like. Overall I’d recommend it, just don’t overdo it!

Easy upgrade
This product is solid and easy to install, I put it at 40% it took a little getting used to and makes the shifts a bit stiffer. Pretty easy to change between 20,30 and 40% if desired. It doesn't change distance side to side. Good bang for the buck product.

Simple, effective, fun.
Took literally 10 minutes to install on an RS. I set it at the 40% setting. Effort increased as dictated by physics, but not enough that it bothers me at all. Throw is way down, it feels awesome. I feel like it's a good value, and it is very well made.
