A deadly game of chance and destiny plays out against the stark backdrop of early-1980s West Texas in Joel and Ethan Coen’s powerful adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s novel. When he happens upon more than two million dollars from a drug deal turned desert massacre, a retired welder and Vietnam veteran (Josh Brolin) sets into motion a wave of senseless, inexorable violence as he’s stalked across the plains by a soul-weary sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) and a psychopathic hit man (Javier Bardem). Winner of four Academy Awards—including Best Picture, and Best Supporting Actor for the indelibly disturbing Bardem—this darkly deadpan borderlands noir keeps both the tension and the existential unease mounting through each cruelly ironic twist of fate.DIRECTOR-APPROVED 4K UHD + BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION FEATURESNew 4K digital master, supervised and approved by director of photography Roger Deakins, with 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrackOne 4K UHD disc of the film presented in Dolby Vision HDR and one Blu-ray with the film and special featuresNew conversation between filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen and author Megan AbbottNew conversation between Deakins and associate producer David Diliberto, also featuring AbbottArchival interviews with actors Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Tommy Lee Jones, and Kelly MacdonaldBehind-the-scenes documentary by BrolinThree documentaries about the making of the film featuring on-set footage and interviews with members of the cast and crewEnglish subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearingPLUS: An essay by author Francine Prose and a 2007 piece on the film by author Larry McMurtry

Awesome movie, awesome format.
Fantastic to view in 4K in the Criterion format. Really nice presentation. Probably not a movie you're going to watch often, but when you do, this is the top of the line way to do so. Great movie with some great performances and one of the best portrayals of a villain in movie history.

No Country for Old Men Criterion is EPIC!
if you're a Cohen brothers fan, or just enjoy good cinema, No Country for Old Men is an amazing film, especially this Criterion version. Love the packaging, cinematic essays inside the included booklet, and very high-quality video and audio experience. Purchased on sale as well so a fantastic value!

Great film plus supplements
It's a fantastic film and I'm glad that it's part of the criterion collection so that I can have all the supplements that are usually provided with criterion collection films.

Beautiful 4K Criterion release, and excellent film
Amazing Coen brothers movie and beautiful Criterion release. The 4K transfer is stunning. Also happy that the case arrived in mint condition without getting smashed in the mail, which can be sort of hit or miss these days.

What's the most you've ever lost in a coin toss?
When I first went to the theater to watch this movie, I hated it. The fact that the bad guy just got away like that. But then you understand that there's more to this movie than just the standard cat and mouse cliche bad guy, good guy shit. The nature of Anton is so captivating. The loss of understanding for Tommy Lee Jones character as he grows older in this new world of chaos, and the scenes of dialogue vet convey that are excellent. And it makes you appreciate the ending even though the protagonist dies in the bad guy gets away made it epic af. This is an excellent film.

A modern classic that never gets old.
This is currently the definitive way to watch it.The picture quality looks noticeable better, even more so if your TV supports Dobly Vision. If I can nickpick a couple of things it would be the lack of Dobly Atmos which is a giant missed opportunity. It still sounds great but would of been nice to have Dobly Atoms. The cover art looks terrible since it doesn't capture the film but the rest of the artwork inside looks nice, especially the design on the discs which is a nice touch.

An all time classic in the best quality for an absolute stellar price.
One of the best movies ever in the highest quality available. Getting this Criterion 4k disc for under $20 is INSANE. Received it in mint condition with zero problems.
