Worth the extra money for reception improvement

This is definitely a genuine LG replacement Magic remote control. You can see in my photo that the only real noticeable difference between this, and my original remote control, is the bottom 3 row of buttons. This new replacement remote doesn’t include the outdated teletext features, or the live zoom. I’ve never actually used any of these buttons anyway, so because the rest of it works in exactly the same way as the original one did, I’m more than happy with this.This takes 2 x AA batteries, which must be alkaline only. These are included in the box, so you don’t need to buy any additional batteries to be able to start using this straight away. This remote control works within a 10 metre range, and transmits radio waves to your TV, rather than infrared signals. This means it doesn’t need to be pointed directly at the TV in order for you to operate it, unlike an infrared one would. It also supports the LG voice recognition feature, if you have enabled this option on your TV.Out of curiosity, I did contact LG customer support via an online chat box. I wanted to see if an exact replica of my old original remote is actually still available, as my TV is only 5 years old. The agent told me that exact replacements are indeed available. If you happen to use all of the buttons on your current remote control, and are looking for a like-for-like replica of your original, I would advise contacting LG customer support directly. They didn’t keep me waiting at all, and it only took a couple of minutes to get the information I needed. If you give them your exact TV model number, they will be able to provide you with the correct part number to enable you to order the exact replacement on Amazon. That way, it will be identical to your original remote, and give you exactly the same features and functionality.

Lovely product, but after trying to pair it with my LG TV it kept failing to pair, saying it was incompatible

A great LG remote control that works perfectly. Looks a little different to the original remote I have for the tv but has all of the functions and buttons you would expect. Comes supplied with 2 AA batteries and set up literally takes seconds. A fantastic, quality replacement/additional LG remote at a significant discount to others on the market. Highly recommended.

This is a newer officially branded LG remote. Should work with any LG model TV so long as it has smart tv capabilities. Batteries are included. The main difference in the remote is that it has shortcuts for Netflix and prime video. It’s a little more user friendly and easier to find things like the settings button. Size wise it’s more or less the same as my original LG remote but in my opinion the navigation is a little nicer on the upgrade.
