Works easy install
This item worked as described. Easy to Install and clear directions. The contactor is cheaper and I can't speak for durability as of yet because It's only installed for few months now. I bought to replace cheap undersized contactor on a ingersollrand aircompressor before it failed. ( from reviews on the compressor the OEM contactor always burns out causing motor failer) this is well built for the money and should work for the minimal use I will be using it. If I used my compressor more often or for buisness I would suggest higher quality but for home shop it's good.

Good so far...
Used this to start my 5 HP Air compressor. Appears to be decent quality considering it is from China. Instructions are a bit confusing but got it in and it works well. Time will tell as to longevity...

Good for the money but..........
This magnetic starter is not ideal, but I rate 4 stars for features and definitely cost.1) the mechanism and housing are packed as well as possible however..... the mechanism inside the metal housing is heavy. It was held in with only 2 screws. It arrived broken and separated from the metal box. However......the fix was easy (drill and tap a couple new screws/holes) I would have returned but......2) this was half the cost (or less) of any other magnetic starter I could find.3) it has a nice on/off mechanical switch built in, which most don't. It's also lighted so it's easy to see4) the wiring directions are better than average for a non-electritionHonestly, the quality is marginal. Make sure the internal mechanism is sufficiently attached to the metal enclosure. However, it is a true magnetic starter, works like it should, looks good, and has the lighted switch. Your going to save $60-75 for anything similar

Easy to hook up. Get this one!!
Worked perfectly with my Saylor Beall 5hp single phase air compressor. Easy directions. Was able to wire to my pressure switch. Previous product I purchased did not include directions and had zero customer service. I called and left messages and also emailed them….no response. Learn from my experience and get this one!!

Good easily applied unit
This unit works well for controlling 5HP motors on compressors or other equipment. The only problem is with the adjustment range for the thermal overload relay. Modern 5HP motors only draw ~21A at full load due to advancements in motor materials and design. The thermal relay setting is for full load amps, not service factor amps, and trips at about 125% of the dial's full load setting. A search for 'CJX2 3210' will bring up specifications for the contactor. The attached diagram may help some users with wiring this unit with a remote pressure switch. The fuse can be 2 to 5A and is necessary to protect the wires to the pressure switch that exit the starter enclosure. The small 16AWG control wires would not be safe when connected directly to a 50-60A breaker that is required for a 5HP motor. The breaker should be 2X the full load amps of the motor. There is enough space inside the enclosure for wiring if done in a workmanlike fashion. As a side note, my compressor had a pressure switch wired to directly control the 5HP motor that was only rated for switching 2HP. It would probably have lasted through the warranty period but not much longer. Using the pressure switch for pilot duty only lets the contactor control the motor and the controls should last for many years.

motor starter
Easy install, worked properly.

Needs bigger button
It worked fine, but definitely needs a bigger, easier to find switch.

Great Value
Used this to upgrade the starter on a 5 horsepower compressor motor. Works perfectly, and the chassis mounted on/off switch lets me keep the compressor from auto-starting when not in use. Wiring diagram for using with an inline pressure switch was handy too.
