Excellent cutting tool
I used this tool to cut a couple sheets of 3/16 plexiglass and it worked great. Initially I tried using a utility knife. After about an hour, I gave up and ordered the Hyde. The utility knife had a new blade but just could not cut through the thick plexiglass. The Hyde cutting tool is well built and sturdy for its size. I wore thick leather gloves when scoring the cut because there's no padding on the tool and of course it's a pretty sharp blade.

Never knew these existed
This will work for what I need it for

So much better than a blade
At first, I was using a razor blade to score plexiglass and kydex then snapping it. I had to press really hard and keep my ruler straight. Took multiple passes before I could snap it.With this tool, it's much faster. Takes less effort and I don't have to press down as hard, which I think is safer too. It's so much easier to work on the plexiglass. Wish I bought this sooner. Not sure how long the sharpness will last since I don't cut plexiglass often. But it's great to have in the toolbox.

Hard Plastic cutter
Never used a tool like this before, it takes awhile, but it gets the job done eventually.

Does work but not so easy
Used this to cut 1/8" acrylic sheets. It did score it enough to snap off pieces but it took a while. Instead of trying to break the whole piece at once on edge of workbench I used plyers and worked my way down the score. Made sanding the edges much easier.

Great item but will NOT cuting 1/4 inch acrylic
I was so excited to use this. It scored the acrylic but I did not think through the 1/4 inch thickness. It barely scratched it and ended up using a power tool on it. I would definitely buy again for use on a thinner sheet

Score!
Score the plastic. Again, maybe again, don't press hard, just firm...then firmly snap. Not rocket science. Enjoy.UPDATE: I literally used a broom handle as a ruler for the straight line, scored the line ( 3 feet) on some solid white flat screen tv material, scored once, then snapped. Unless I have the ONE hyde cutter that works, you know, the MAGIC cutter, the negative reviews are absolutely making the product to difficult on themselves to use. I have used this thing with ease like 50 times...no issues,...then again i use it as intended and not a one sided scissor that can with a Gandalf touch, just smoothly cut right through stuff..UPDATE #2 I just used this bad boy on 1/2 inch thick basketball backboard Poly-Acrylic glass...Scored about 10 swipes on the front, and for safety scored about the same on the other side,..put over my workbench and snapped my right hand and for arm while holding the table side with my left....took two quick try's because i sorta was shy the first attempt,..clean snap with almost ZERO bits to finger clean off!!! I would post photos but only have my chromebook right now to take pics,.. I will at least try and take post photos of the left overf pieces later to show proof of these things...I just was amazed at the negative comments on here by the pros that claim their tool knowledge and have to put some spin on this item that might lose sales due to lack of knowledge in using an item like this..no disrespect! I really would love to see updates by those individuals that go back and use the item properly so they can enjoy the ease of using this tool that not too many other tools can achieve, especially for the price range...thanks again to HYDE for a superior product!
