This review is for the Vigel Pickleball Paddle SetWhen my wife and I first played pickleball, we had wooden rackets that were like giant ping-pong paddles. Those really stunk and the ball did not come off well at all. They were heavy and had no forgiveness.Enter this set from Vigel, which are USA Pickleball approved! This means the rackets at least meet basic standards for tournament play (vs. ping pong). The paddles are made from fiberglass and have a honeycomb core. The description says that "the fiberglass face offers superior power compared to carbon fiber". Generally speaking, carbon fiber is found on higher end paddles. It is softer, has a better sweet spot and higher spin potential. Fiberglass, on the other hand, is usually less forgiving and has more power. So you can really pound it with fiberglass, but you won't have as much control as you would with carbon. Carbon paddles are typically far more expensive, more durable, and lightest weight. These paddles claim to be designed with an enlarged sweet spot. I cannot confirm that, but the ball did hit evenly off the surface.Whichever you prefer, these paddles are still lightweight, which is best for beginners. Each paddle weighs @7.5 ounces, which will not tire your arm out. The handle features a non-sweat grip, and at 5" long gives you plenty to grip. Too many paddles have short little grips that might work for some but are hard to grip properly. These grips also feature a nice 'girth' which do not feel small in the hand, but not too large either. You don't feel like you're gripping a corn dog.If you have wanted to get into pickleball, or if you're like me and started off with a super cheap set without knowing what you were buying, then this set is perfect! It includes 2 pickleball paddles, 2 indoor pickleball balls, 2 outdoor pickleball balls, and a carry bag. For what it's worth, the difference between indoor and outdoor balls is that indoor ones typically have fewer and larger holes and are designed for indoor courts. Outdoor balls have nearly double the number of holes, but they are smaller to be more wind resistant.This set is truly ALL you need to get started. And it is well made, so it may be all you need for a while unless you get really good. Then you might find you want a bit more control, or power, etc. But for the casual player this is a phenomenal value at the current price! Highly recommended!

I thought having two paddles was overkill until I needed to loan it to friends to get them to play with me. We are all beginners but have quickly become addicted. This is a solid set, the case is handy for carrying everything to the court. The quality seems solid as well. If you need some pickleball paddles these will do you just fine.

This is a great set to get started with pickleball. I've recently gotten into it and it's a lot of fun. The paddles and balls are nice and it includes a carrying bag for everything. Would recommend.

We have tried quite a few entry level rackets with our group of kids that are just learning to play. These have been a favorite among the players...and they are very affordable. They are a bit heavier than some other racquets we tried, but that's a good thing. Most of the players prefer that to a really light racquet.

If you’re looking for a set to get started or to give you better play from crappy paddles, I highly suggest this set! I test a lot of paddles of different levels and this set allowed me to play almost as well as my professional paddles at a quarter of the price.I wish I had a paddle set like this when I was beginning, I would have been in a much better position.It has a decent sweet spot, they are very lightweight like the professional paddles, and they have some texture so you can add spin.
