Three-Month Fever: The Andrew Cunanan Story (Semiotext(e) / Native Agents)

A Foray into Toxic American Celebrity Obsessed Culture
I read this as an entry point into Gary Indiana's style. His style is frenetic and more inclined to those who are willing to think about words. His style, as others have written, is not full of run on sentences. It is getting into the mind of a very troubled individual. It is written part stream of consciousness (from the mind of Cunanan), and part police case file. The author's foray into the consciousness of Andrew Cunanan as well as some of the events in Cunanan's life, culminates in Cunanan's much publicized murder spree. He goes out of his way to emphasize that there were other humans murdered besides Gianni Versace (though the celebrity obsessed news media tends to obliterate those other murders). All in all, a good read for those interested in Gary Indiana's writing as well as those interested in the toxic effects fame and celebrity have for American culture.

Confusing jumbles
The author jumps from one point to the other that does not make sense and hard to follow. Not meant to read, follow and enjoy

Very good comments on the authors viewpoint of what occurred during the Cunanan killing spree. Facts mixed with personal views. Interesting and informative. I read both this and Vulgar Favors by Maureen Orth at the same time. Very nice combined details of the events.

Could not get interested in this story
I could not get through even half of this book. The sentences rambled on continously. The author had me lost.

Catchy enough
The book is full of detailed, enterteining and fascinating descriptions. The literary portrait of Andrew is well-done and catchy but if the narration of actions had been more linear, the reading would have been easier.
