Metering preferences reset to factory default automatically
When I received this camera one of the first things I did after reading the owners manual was to set my preferences for each of the camera modes, photo, photo burst, macro, video, etc. For the most part this went well. However, my metering preferences reset to "multi" each time I change the mode, either of the two ways you do this, or turn the camera off. Which means that if I am using the single photo mode with my preferred spot metering and switch to burst mode which I would like to set the metering at center waited or to video set at one of these or something else, each time I either use the default multi or have to open up setting and reset. This makes it impossible to quickly change modes with preferred settings, more likely causing me to forget to reset up and sub optimizing my shots. I went on line to Minolta/Elite Brands Support and unbelievably to me, this is the way it is. I know no photographer that would choose to have it this way, but that is how this camera is set up. I do bird photography and bought this camera for digiscoping which I think will still work at least sort of. But I am far from satisfied.
