Amazed ! I had managed to over clean a small silverplated box, i used this producst rubbed it in for a few secound and then polished it off twice and it looks better than new ! I also tried it in an old clock which was basically down to base metal and it genrally improved it massively but from where it had started it was never going to fully restore it. The poduct is easy to use and you don't need much. Additional coats seem to improve it. Warning - where gloves, i did but still got it in me - washed it off but over the next couple of hours my skin has turned a weird shade of orangey brown ! Seems to work best for me on surfaces that were already plated. Well worth the cost the bottel will last years .

I used this on a silver plated item that was showing the base metal in places and it re-plated it really well. I did not find it very good at removing dark tarnishing but at least if you rub off any of the plating trying to clean it this stuff will fix the lustre. Would recommend trying this before trying a professional restorer for anything but the most precious of items.

Excellent product, does what it says on the bottle. My silver plated cruet set was in a bad state. Three applications of the liquid and with vigorous buffing, it's looking much better. I may need to apply the liquid plating solution a few more times, to get it to an acceptable level but I'm very pleased with the results so far. I used a small paint brush to apply the solution thickly and then buffed with a soft cloth. It worked beautifully. On another ornament which was silver coloured but not silver plated and had lost most of the colour, I painted the solution on and left it for a few minutes and then buffed it. Excellent results in just three applications. Just a warning, this won't work on any soft metals like aluminium or tin. Reading the instructions on the bottle is essential for where it can be used. Highly recommend the product.

I would give it zero stars if I could. Whilst it cleans silver plate well enough it is useless at plating anything.

doesn't work very well at all. About 8 coats later on some cleaned copper, and the copper was still very evident.gradually goes more silver the more you keep applying, but nowhere near as good as it was made out to be. no substitute for proper silver plating by any means, but could help repair patch a silvered instrument.

What a brilliant product! I used this on a very, very worn trophy salver with chasing and engraving and this fantastic product not only covered the large areas of wear but it also worked well in the chased areas. The difference is absolutely amazing and, having been quoted £80 plus p&p for "proper" replating it's a real bargain, too.I read all of the reviews prior to purchase and I can only think that those people who didn't get good results might have not had the copper base I have and I would emphasise that when the bottle says "apply liberally" it really does mean very liberally! I applied it by pouring onto the salver and then working it into the worn areas with a soft cloth. It does go quite black to start with, but gentle rubbing for 20 seconds completely transforms it. I finished by using an old soft duster and the shine is stunning. I truly ant recommend this highly enough.

I used it on 8 items,they looked like new.Does not cover underlying scratches though.Still good though.
