Q: Can this box work without the cable outlet on the back of the tv?

I have an older TV that only has UHF/VHF antenna connections. There is a UHF/VHF converter adapter that allows you to plug in coax cable. Q: Does the converter box help pick up tv station's.

I bought the converter box because my TV is twenty years old and is not capable of picking up a digital signal. The converter box with an ANTENNA makes it possible for me to get the over the air free stations. If you have a newer TV the digital converter is built in the TV set and you should not need the converter box. All you will need is an antenna.
