Q: How do you set the display where all the numbers are big? it shows a picture where there all big?

There is a select button to cycle though a choice of display options. There is also a zero button along with an on/off button (if my 78 y.o. memory serves me correctly). If that doesn't do what you want, I'm out of guesses. One observation might be that only whole and NOT fractional numbers appear large. Hope this helps.

Q: What size screw is needed for battery cover? I tried jeweler screws but they are too small. I lost mine replacing battery.

I'm not sure but if you go to lowes or tractor supply I'm sure you'll find what you need fairly easy.

Q: What is the casing of the digital readout made of? Plastic or metal?

The description says the housing is made of metal with a silver paint finish. Feel and weight suggests metal construction. It is heavier than others I have that are plastic.

Too big for the average homeowner use

Quality was great, but it was much bigger than what my handyman do it yourselfer husband needed. For average, everyday useage get the smaller unit.

Inches, millimeters, thousandths.

Great calipers, easy to use, easy to change between inches and mm. I bought the 12”, though I’d but the 6” version next time. 12” is a bit cumbersome and what I’m measuring is way shorter than 12”. But the tool is quite pleasant to use.
