I did keep the box that they came in so that works great for storage. They are made from a thick cardboard and are well made. I can’t say enough great things about these blocks. I wanted to buy her some nesting blocks because she loves building blocks so much but I wanted her to learn to stack with size progression. I also wanted something to help her with numbers and counting. You may notice that other nesting blocks are numbered top down when they're stacked. This makes zero logical sense, unless you're teaching your kid to count backwards. Seeing that they build from the bottom up, it only makes sense that the bottom box be numbered "1." DUH. So that was the first reason to buy it. But then, as if that wasn't enough, this set also has the animals? I mean really? Another way to play. My daughter LOVES playing with the animals. Plus the boxes have pictures of each animal on them so she can look and see which animal goes in which box. She loves that. There are so many ways to play, and it's so great for the little ones' wee brains. We've only had this an hour, but it's an hour during which she has done nothing but okay with this toy. That says a LOT for a kid who has the attention span of a gnat. She hasn't stopped smiling and working with it. The quality is great and it is absolutely adorable, if the other points weren't enough.
