I’m a pediatric speech-language pathologist (I work to help preschool aged-children learn to use and understand language). I purchased these blocks after attending a conference and listening to one of the speakers talk about how great this set was for children. I bought it immediately and I love them! There are so many opportunities for learning and teaching words and language. Some of the things I work on with kids include: prepositions (up/down, in/out), cause/effect of building up and then crashing down, size concepts (big/small), animal sounds (cow-moo, pig-oint, dog-woof, bunny-hop hop). I don’t really focus on the academics of colors and numbers but the illustrations on the blocks are beautiful and create easy ways to practice those skills too if you want. I’ve had these blocks since 2015 and am writing this review in 2020 so I can definitely attest to their durability. I’ve had them for 5 years and they are still holding up very well. I did keep the box that they came in so that works great for storage. They are made from a thick cardboard and are well made. I can’t say enough great things about these blocks. They are definitely a ‘next step up’ to standard stacking/building blocks. I would also recommend pulling out some of your kids’ favorite character figurines/toys to use with these blocks (princesses, dinosaurs, whatever your child is most interested in)… you don’t have to just use the 6 animals that came with the set. Use your imagination and have fun!

This is probably the best thing I've ever bought my daughter (2 years old). I wanted to buy her some nesting blocks because she loves building blocks so much but I wanted her to learn to stack with size progression. I also wanted something to help her with numbers and counting. You may notice that other nesting blocks are numbered top down when they're stacked. This makes zero logical sense, unless you're teaching your kid to count backwards. Seeing that they build from the bottom up, it only makes sense that the bottom box be numbered "1." DUH. So that was the first reason to buy it. But then, as if that wasn't enough, this set also has the animals? I mean really? Another way to play. My daughter LOVES playing with the animals. Plus the boxes have pictures of each animal on them so she can look and see which animal goes in which box. She loves that. There are so many ways to play, and it's so great for the little ones' wee brains. We've only had this an hour, but it's an hour during which she has done nothing but okay with this toy. That says a LOT for a kid who has the attention span of a gnat. She hasn't stopped smiling and working with it. The quality is great and it is absolutely adorable, if the other points weren't enough. I have forwarded this to all my friends with toddlers. So, so, so happy. You will not be disappointed.

I bought this for my 8 month old granddaughter, who has Down syndrome, after reading the review of another purchaser...and after her OT suggested she start playing with toys that require her to "release" them. I'm so glad I did! It's adorable! It is made of heavy, very sturdy cardboard, which I personally think is a good idea. If it was made out of a heavier material, it would injure a child when it tumbles over. The colors are bright and cheerful, and the designs are very playful. It nests together perfectly for compact storage, too. I think it's a great item...and can't wait to show it to my granddaughter. I know she's going to love it.

I use these almost daily in speech Rebekah therapy to target every goal under the sun. They’re highly motivating and very engaging. I bought a backup set because I love them so much and get so much use out of them.

Both my kids have enjoyed playing with this stacker over the years that I’ve made it one of my ‘go to’ gift options for friends and family who have toddlers. The cardboard has proven to be very sturdy and the coating has kept well on the edges and surface. It allows for versatile playing options, size, number, color, as well as imagination play and story telling.

Absolutely do not buy this as a gift! Amazon doesn’t offer gift wrap for this and they put a huge shipping label covering one side of the box. The box is ruined!! There is no way to get the sticker off without ruining the box and the gift can’t be returned without a box so I can’t even take the item out and put it in a gift bag. So disappointed because this looks so cute.

our toddlers have been loving cardboard stackable boxes/blocks! these are really cute a little plastic friends are a fun addition — they are on the small side especially compared to the Melissa and Doug ones but they do hold up better!

I think this is a great developmental toy! So many learning opportunities are available with just a little parental involvement. It’s beautiful. Some of the animals are a little too heavy and hard to get to stay upright. I definitely recommend!

Mi chiquitina tiene 13 meses, y le está llamando la atención, sobretodo juega con los muñequitos de plástico, son muy coloridos , y muy manejables, creo que es tamaño perfecto! ni muy pequeño que se lo pueda meter en la boca entero, sí que lo mordisquea. Y no es grande por lo que nos llevamos siempre un par en el bolso para que juegue cuando quiera o los lleva ella. Los vi en el fnc y me gustó, pero salía más caro que por aquí. Las cajitas al principio me sorprendieron porque no sé porque me esperaba otro material, es cartón, pero utilizándolo me he dado cuenta que es cartón duro, que hasta se ha puesto encima la niña y no los ha roto todavía.intenta apilarlos, creo que lo utilizará más adelante.y para guardarlos se encajan todas las cajas y los animales se ponen dentro. Puedes darle diferentes uso de juegos, ahora los papis tendremos que utilizar la imaginación y nuestros bebés. Estoy realmente muy contenta con la compra. De momento lo recomiendo , volveré escribir cuando lo haya usado aún más. Actualizo: Mi peque tiene ya 19 meses, juega más que antes lo recomiendo más a esta edad.

This is one of my grandson's current favourite toys. There are six boxes that nest or stack and one animal for each box. The animal's picture is on the box, so you can put the animal in it's correct place (or not). My grand son will also line up the boxes. Then he has small cars that go in, or on, or drive on top of the boxes. He is 22 months and I saw him spend an hour an a half at this activity! Wow. He repeated two words - "door" since each box has an opening, and "in" since that's where he was putting the cars and animals. Well worth the money. The boxes are cardboard, but he ran over one with his tricycle and it still did not break.

Ein sehr schönes Spielzeug, vielseitig verwendbar. Mein Kind liebt es die Schachteln zu stapeln und die Tiere hineinzustellen. Man kann die Schachteln aber auch alleine verwenden, um sie ineinander zu sortieren bzw. kann man auch die Tiere einfach ohne Schachteln zum Spielen nehmen. Nur die Farben der Tiere sind Geschmackssache. Die Verarbeitung ist sehr gut. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Schachteln dieser Art ist bisher keine einzige kaputt gegangen.
