I originally saw this knife featured on Ballistic BBQ and decided to give it a try — and I’m glad I did. The SHAN ZU 8" Damascus chef knife is outstanding. Right out of the box it’s razor sharp, and the cutting performance is smooth and precise. Whether I’m slicing meat, chopping vegetables, or doing finer prep work, it just glides through everything. What really impressed me: Extremely sharp edge with excellent control Beautiful Damascus finish — looks as good as it performs Comfortable, well-balanced feel in hand Feels like a much more expensive knife After using this, my older knives just don’t compare anymore. I’ve already started looking at replacing the rest of my set with SHAN ZU. If you’re on the fence, don’t be — this is a fantastic knife for the price and performance. Highly recommended.

This knife cuts meat like butter. It is very sharp. Comfortable in your hand, looks great. Worth the money.

Very sharp out of the box, held its edge for general kitchen use so far, quiet heavy, but balanced, comfortable handles,very clean effortless cuts on tomatoes,easily dices onions,cubing beef for caseroles,casseroles, chopping carrots, that's been the basic use thus far, I have not cleaned it in a dishwasher only hand washed so far so can't say how that would if at all effect the knife, would reccomend, certainly for the average home cook anyway.

Nice and sharp! Easily handled and feels good for rocking in your hand. Perfect weight. I have small hands and was fearful it would be too heavy or big but is just the right weight and handles nicely.

Excellent value for the money. Good weigh, very sharp. I prefer it to other more expensive knives I own.

Grabbed this on sale. It arrived very sharp, and the Damascus look (assuming it's real) is very, very cool. The handle is a bit light, I prefer a weightier knife but it's not too bad. The box/case is also a nice one. It arrived extremely sharp, but it's gotten a little dull over time. We aren't the greatest at taking care of knives in general, but this seemed to happen quicker than other chefs knives that we've tried out. Could be user error, could just be the quality.

Worth the price. Looks amazing and really sharp

Great knife! I've been a cook for over thirty years and always had a knife service so never felt the need to buy my own, until recent change in work I wanted to get my own as nobody seems to take care of a knife edge where I'm working now. Well the price was very reasonable, the weight feels nice , the handle is very comfortable (my hands are average size), looks and feels great. Cuts very well I have used it in a professional setting for two weeks and still is holding its edge. Will purchase from this seller again. If you are on the fence about buying this knife I suggest looking at some from a restaurant supply company, they are ridiculously expensive and likely the same quality, would highly recommend this company.
