The knives are sharp and sturdy. Just what I thought I was looking for. However, they rust maybe I missed something in the description. Good price, if you don’t mind using food grade oil and caring for these knives then you’re likely alright. I wish I would have bought a Japan set. UPDATE: I was contacted by the company who insisted to replace the knives. They also warned of using the dishwasher. This made me think that could have happened I usually hand wash knives and put away after use. I'm not the only one who cleans up and my partner, she could have used the dishwasher and put back in the drawer. These are very good knives. I like how sharp they arrive strong and sturdy. I increased the star rating, and I appreciate the customer service.

First, I’m reviewing a product I’ve never used. That said, I like them. They are heavy knives. Really heavy. If they hold their edge, as I suspect they will, they should be an excellent set of knives. The weight is the reason I bought this set. The only thing I don’t like is oiling them after each use, but it is an absolute must do. No to the dishwasher, too. They will rust before you get them out of the first cycle. If you wash them, dry them well, and oil them after each use, they should last a lifetime. Since I have yet to use them, I will try to remember to come back and review them afterward.

Heavy but not too heavy in handle. Holds its edge. Metal goes all the way down the base of handle so its sturdy. Great control and quality. Will buy a set for myself as this was a gift for my husband.

I recommend these knives but in their advertisement it said warranty for life but in the box says only one year.That is why I took one star off.
