Amazing on its own or to add a twist
This stuff is amazing, can not recommend enough. TBH it is a little syruppy, but thats good. Works well as an end of meal/night drink on its own, or I sometimes add it to a G&T which makes a really nice flavour and with a bit of bite as a refreshing aperitif. I'm sure there's other mixer options, not tried but recon it might work well with a splash of coca cola if you want a mixer with it, or just schweppes tonic?

Not for shot drinkers
A tasty and fascinating addition to a drink. Found it best with a blended whisky. Somewhat over priced but a definite talking point but not for a lager or shot swelling palate. Women don’t seem to like it. Well presented.

Best product, decent seller... this stuff's a bit special.
I have had nothing other than smooth transactions with this seller. Always on time or if not, a little sooner actually. The postman has started to say he needs a picture of me receiving it because it's alcohol, fair enough. The drink is bl@@dy lovely, a bit special, don't waste it drinking it in shots, savour it like a good brandy... enjoy!!Also, if you're into cooking it's incredible in iced cream, just use the best eggs.

Yup
Very sweet but really pleasant neat, throw a dash of cloudy lemonade into a large measure and look up the story of this drink. It's fun and part of UK history! A reminder of times gone byVery pleasant and yes I will buy again

Surprisingly Good
Took a real gamble on this as I was in the mood to try something different, the other reviews were promising and there is a little history to this drink which intrigued me.Well this is lovely, warm, and quite sweet - but not overly so for a liqueur. The ginger is powerful and tickles your throat and the lovely initial flavour is replaced after a few seconds with a warm glow that lingers comfortingly in your throat.Already persuaded relatives to buy this after tasting my bottle.

BEWARE If you enjoyed the original in the black bottle, this is not the same drink
We’ve been enjoying “Kings Ginger” liqueur for a number of years. We found that it was available on Amazon back in November 2020 and placed a regular subscription order. Our first bottle arrived in November and it was the usual black bottle with an alcohol value of 41%.We received another bottle on the 1st of Feb.We were surprised that the bottle had changed to a tall yellow type, (as per the new description above) we assumed as it was from the same company and the drink was the same name that they had just changed the design of the bottle for “trendy reasons”.We subsequently opened the bottle and poured out 2 small glasses and sat down to enjoy our favourite drink. What a massive disappointment, this tasted nothing like the original “kings ginger” liqueur. It had a very harsh ginger/ lemon taste completely different from the original. On checking the label and comparing it with the original black bottle I found that the 2 bottles have different bar codes and that the recipe has changed and the alcohol value is different at only 29.9%.I’m surprised that the manufacturer is selling this new version under the same name as the original, this must be causing lots of complaints from existing purchasers of the original. These 2 drinks are completely different and they should not be sold under the same item number!!BEWARE If you enjoyed the original in the black bottle, this is not the same drink despite it keeping the same name!!

BRING BACK THE OLD KING'S GINGER!
I honestly don't know what Berry Bros. & Rudd thought they were doing when they changed a 117 year old, tried & tested recipe, lowered its alcohol content from 41% to 30%, and ruined an iconic bottle design. King Edward VII must be turning in his grave. I enjoyed the old King's Ginger for many years. This new one isn't a patch on the old. Completely different taste profile...and nowhere near as good. It's lamentable when people mess with a classic 😔
