Beautiful Travel Set!. Tiny but Very crisp lettering, they have a nice weight and feel to hold. Having angled wood racks is a big plus over the other travel sets that come with clear trays. The wood box is magnetic close and everything fits in perfectly. It has a nice finish with a felt interior and base. Very compact for storing. No latch on the box so it won't stay shut in your suitcase without a strap around the box. For easy traveling we toss the tiles into a zippered bag that fits the 10" wood racks (Gustaria thickened mahjong bag for 1.2 std tile set) and toss it in our carry on. The angled racks in this set are worth buying a bag if you don't have one. It's about 2 Lb

I decided that I wanted to try and learn to play Mahjong, so I bought this set to help me learn. I have not had the set for very long, but it seems to be very good quality and comes with a wooden case with a magnet to help it stay closed (see photos). The set and the pieces are very small, which makes it perfect for travel! The outside of the case has a felt bottom and inside the case, the top and bottom are also lined with felt to protect the pieces. I have not had any issues keeping the case closed, but I have noticed that the magnet is not strong enough to hold the lid closed if you try flipping the case over (this is not an issue for me, since I store it flat on a table). I also noticed another reviewer mentioned that their set had a lingering smell, but mine does not seem to have that problem. I was also extremely excited to see that my set came with a "Learn to Play American Mahjong" book. The book explains the different suites and how to play classic American Mahjong with 4 people. The book fits perfectly in the case for easy storage (see photos). Overall, I think this is an excellent set and I loved that it came with the "Learn to Play" book!

the tiles are teeny. make sure you ask for large tiles. this is not that

This set was purchased to bring with me when I travel. I have a full size MahJong set but it is too heavy and bulky to bring with me on a plane or a cruise. So I was looking for an American MahJong set that was small and light weight and would fit easily in my luggage. I travel light so this was especially important. I used the Yellow Mountain American MahJong Travel set a few times in solitaire play and, although the tiles are very, very small, it is perfect for travel. It comes in a nice wood case with felt on the bottom and has 4 racks that are usable. No pushers but that should not be a problem. My MahJong Card fits easily inside the case along with the tiles, racks and tiny, tiny dice. The only thing I do not like is that there is no latch to keep the wood case closed so I used 2 rubber bands to hold it closed. I am happy about this purchase and look forward to using it in my travels.
