I got this outdoor electric heater to supplement my firepit towers in my backyard.I'll start with what I like about it:I like the overall design of it. It's like an oscillating tower fan, except it blows out heat instead. It looks sleek, it doesn't take up much space, and it is easy to operate.It has a wide variety of heat settings as well depending on how warm you want it to be. It heats up pretty fast.It comes with two sets of remote controls (batteries not included) and has smart safety features overall.That said, here's what I don't like about it.- Picture in listing doesn't exactly match what you're getting. There's a piece you can opt to screw on (for some strange reason they gave me two packs of four screws when I only needed one, and no screwdriver included either), but once you do put it on it can make the heater easy to carry around. The downside to this is it wasn't pictured, and once you put it on you can't put on the protective sleeve that keeps it clean from debris and protected from weather like rain/snow. This is also minor but there's these floor bumper protector pieces that they have, and it is supposed to have four but mine only had three. I guess it is to prevent scratches to the floor if you dragged the heater around, but I plan on carrying it only.- It only truly warms up the people directly in front of it. If this was in an enclosed area it would warm up the entire room. But in an outdoor environment I don't think this would warm up everyone around it except for those closest to it.- It is pretty expensive at its current price point. This is currently being sold for $169 with a 5% coupon. I think it should be closer to $100.Overall I'd give it around 3 stars. Mediocre product that I think will work really well for enclosed rooms.

I was hopeful that this heater would work well to keep our bedroom warm in the winter. We use wood heat so the bedrooms get chilly and this heater looked like it would fit the ticket using radiant heat without a blower made it sound like it would work great in our room where we like to sleep. Unfortunately this heater has a few drawbacks that make it not the best choice for this use. Here are my thoughts on the Sundate Infrared heater:PROS:1) It has 8 power settings from 187.5 watts up to 1500 watts. So, you have control over the amount of heat being produced.2) Using 1500 watts puts out a lot of heat and add the oscillation feature it spreads the heat around a room well.3) It is quite. With no blower on the unit it is very quite while providing excellent heat distribution.CONS:1) There is no temperature shut off. You cannot set it to say 75 degrees and have it turn off when it reaches the set temperature and then back on when the room cools down. Your only control is the wattage output. This makes it so you certainly cannot leave this in a room because it never will shut off on its own (unless you use the timer mode). This makes it pretty impracticable for a bedroom.2) When one puts it into standby mode all the red lights on top flash on and off (Pic 4). This is really annoying at night when you want to sleep. Often when we go to bed we do not need heat but about 2 am we want some heat in the room. If you leave the power switch on (located at the base of the unit) and use the standby mode so you can use the remote to turn on the heat you have a very bright flashing red light going on and off while you try to sleep. This again totally ruins this heater for use in a bedroom where people sleep. It might be quite but a bright flashing light is just as bad as a noisy fan motor.3) The directions and controls are poorly positioned and confusing to use (See photo 3). I am not sure who came up with this idea but it is not intuitive or easy to use. The power switch is on the base of the unit to where you have to get on your knees to see it. Red lights to adjust heat level and then when you have all the red lights on you are in standby mode. Seems backwards to me. The short press gives you green lights so you can adjust the timer setting and a longer press to turn on what they call "shaking head mode" (turns on the oscillation). Just is a very odd layout.4) It came with a metal bracket that goes around the top, but no screws were provided to attach the hanger on. I am not sure if the wire is needed so I probably will not install it.CONCLUSION:I believe in a outdoor setting or an outdoor garage this heater will meet ones needs well. But if you are looking for an indoor heater this one is not it. So, it really depends on what you want to use this heater for.RATING SYSTEM:I review a lot of products because I know reading other peoples reviews are very helpful in selecting the right product. I saw a reviewer that gave a rating scale and I thought, "that is useful". When one is reviewing from underwear to air compressors having a way to tell you why I rate is important.Here is my rating scale:5 Stars: Excellent product, I highly recommend this product for anyone.4 Stars: Good product, but there are some quality, functionality, or design issues, but will still work well.3 Stars: Okay product, it will work for some people but not all people. It works but not great.2 Stars: Is not very functional. It might work in a very specialized situation, but don't count on it.1 Star: Trash. I can't see any useful purpose for the product.
