Can only rate 4 stars as I just used it for the first time. It does have a strong herbal smell. Nothing horrendous. If your use to cooking with Indian spices or any spice it’s not strong or off putting. Comb apllicatior made it easy to apply in sections. I braid hair tight and sleep with towel on my pillow all night. The longer you keep hair oil the better the effect. Growing up my mom would do warm oil hair applications, but when you’re young your hair is effortless beautiful compared to when you’d get older. Hormones and stress kick in and change that wonderful lustrous hair. So I decided with the hair loss and thinning on top of the vitamins and serums it was time to do a deeper treatment so I included this hair oil. My goal is to use it twice a week. I also read using a good AHA product for the scalp is good to help open hair follicles and help increase penetration of nutritious oils like this one. I actually enjoyed the fragrance it smells of curry leaves and herbs and flowers. I am sure it will have some benefit. Balanced diet. Regular use at least 2 to 3 times weekly and leave in all night application is best. Good massage and go to bed with it in your hair after tying hair tightly. If you can steam scalp after application or blow dry to open roots so it will absorb better is a good option to get onto scalp and massage if your only leaving it in for a few hours before washing. Also use sulfate free shampoos and conditioners and make sure to have a good shower filter as heavy chlorine will dry out hair. Will report back with results. If you can get past the smell, you’ll have the beta anti fallout treatment and best scalp conditioner. As someone with oily hair, this was pleasantly healing. The smell however made me want to vomit. It lingers slightly in hair even after a wash but at that point it’s not bad only subtle. I recommend washing twice to get the odor out. It helped fallout and breakage in my hair and my hair health did a 180 immediately after one use.
