Review: Straightforward to install, excellent performance, incredible price, made in USA - I haven't replaced a toilet fill valve in many years, but I remember the last one being troublesome since it was a different brand and model from the original in the toilet tank. This Korky is wonderful, however - very simple and straightforward instructions and then it operates more quietly and very reliably so far - if that changes I'll be back to edit the review. Replacing this yourself will save you anywhere from $125-300 for the labor. If you think you can't do it or are afraid of plumbing issues - I get it, I don't like water seeking any unsealed gap and causing leaks - ask a handy friend to help. Removing the old fill valve is pretty easy, the only issue I had was that the water 'pipe' in the toilet to which the flap is secured at the bottom and where the rubber/plastic tube is clipped at the top for filling that pipe (which then fills the tank) had a round plastic piece at the top shaped like the 'theta' symbol. I wondered if it was permanently connected to the pipe, but gently wiggled it with cloth-covered pliers and it came off easily allowing me to clip the water tube from the fill valve where it appropriately connects. The other tip is to make sure the 'line' marked on the fill valve is 1/2" below the top of that water intake pipe where the fill valve plastic tube connects. I had to cut off about 1" of the plastic tube since it was too long for the distance between the fill valve connection and the water intake pipe. All in all it took about 1 hour since I haven't done it often. I really appreciate that it's made in the USA and gets fantastic reviews.

**Q: Does the Korky 818BP match up/replace the Kohler 85406 flush valve?**
A: According to Korky's website: "It has a universal design to fit all brands and features a wide range of adjustability to fit most 2-piece and 1-piece toilets. Designed to fit more toilets, the QuietFill toilet fill valve adjusts from 7-3/4 inch to 13-1/2 inch."

**Q: if this is a prime item, why is the delivery date a month away?**
A: Go to Lowes or Home depot...in stock and grab a Starbucks double express :-) on the way...

**Q: When I connect to the water supply line, the connection is loose, and water leaks out. Is the connection point on the Korky supposed to be empty?**
A: The red gasket at the bottom should be inside the tank, the large nut is then installed hand tight and then snugged a bit more but not too tight.  if you do this, there is no way that water can leak out of the tank at that point, unless the tank is cracked.

**Q: Is this fill valve by Korky superior to that of Fluidmaster (as in durability and preveting toilet leak)?**
A: The valves we were sent did NOT have the gasket on the bottom included. Was not noticed at first, why would we think it didn’t have needed parts. Put in and leaked everywhere!  Finally figured out why. So just be aware of that.
