I'm in love.
I've been using metal barrel Sharpie S-gel for work, because I've found it the most reliable out of the most common pens. In my line of work, having a reliable pen is critical. That being said, even the metal barrel Sharpie pens have a plastic tip and the metal puts strain on the plastic over time and the tip loves to snap off at the worst possible time. This pen is solid, no chance that it breaks in my uniform pants. I have come to rely on S-gel ink as it dries very fast compared to the G2. I did some experimenting when it came in today, and the Sharpie S-gel pen ink cartridges fit in the pen, but you have to shave about a mm or two from the rear of the cartridge to get it to function. As far as value is concerned, the pen costs about what I'd expect to pay for a solid brass pen. It feels good in the hand. The weight isn't *too* heavy, but enough to feel that it's there when it's in my pocket. The original ink resembled a G2 refill, and with previous bad experiences, I didn't chance it, just trimmed am S-gel cartridge to fit. The bolt action is smooth and feels like it's going to preform great. As far as performance goes, the action on the pen functions exactly like I was wanting. It doesn't take too much pressure to actuate, and the bolt is snappy.Refilling is as simple as it gets. The tip and half of the barrel twist off, and you slide the old cartridge out, and your refill of choice back in. Reassemble the pen, and it's good to go.All in all, I'm very happy. Solid brass pen, snappy action, can take my favorite ink (with minor modification), and it doesn't cost a fortune.

Outstanding!
This solid pen is a beautifully crafted writing instrument. The weight is ideal for all of my writing tasks and the BIG advantage is that it uses the readily available Pilot G2 refills. This eliminates you desperately looking for the correct refills. Although the bolt action was smooth out of the box, I put a couple drops of machine oil which made it buttery slick. The CNC detailing is captivating which gives the pen a professional look that seamlessly fits both the office environment and your day-to-day work outside the office. Through daily use the brass, fused with copper plating, is slowly beginning to show its distinct patina giving a more elegant character. You can age brass by using vinegar and salt but, I would like for it to gradually see this darken through its natural course. Given its high quality, easily obtainable Pilot G2 refills, skip free writing and value; I highly recommend. I will surely purchase more as gifts for the office as staff is completely fascinated by it.

Writes great/feels great, button sometimes sticks
Got the Smootherpro all brass pen. Disappointed that it did not come in a box. Came , literally in a plastic bag put into a bubble wrap envelope. Button sometimes sticks as the 1/2 spring binds, but also sometimes fails to retract. The brass is very comfortable to hold, but is thinner than I thought it would be.. All metal components and construction though, so that is good. Also, I really like the way that it writes, and I generally prefer something thicker than a .5.mm point. This spring seemed a little bit too light/weak. SO…. Basically replaced it with one from a Pilot G2 .7 mm pen. Also oiled the bolt with Lucas brand (blue) gun oil. Works great now and doesn’t bind or catch. For a $20 pen, I’m thinking they could give you a whole spring.Anyway, I really like it and I’ll be keeping it. As fixed I’d give it 5 stars, but right out of the box (bag) only 4!

My favorite pens!
I have too many pens. But I can't seem to stop adding to the collection. I have cheap pens, medium priced pens, and expensive pens that cost hundreds of dollars. I don't have any that cost thousands... I mean, let's be real.I especially like Parker and Cross pens, but I really like the SMOOTHERPRO pens with the bolt action. They just feel good in my hand. I like the heavier weight and the bolt action.Since they use a Pilot G2 refill, I get the kind of lines I like best - thin, very thin lines with no blotting or smearing. I use the G2 Ultra Fine refills.I have three SMOOTHERPRO pens so far and every now and then I will be giving myself another as a present. For the outstanding quality, they are more than reasonably priced.Come to think of it - I think I deserve another for writing this review!

LOVE THIS PEN
This is, by far, my favorite pen! It's durable, made from great material, and the perfect size. It's my lucky pen. I ordered one a year ago and it finally got stolen 🤣. But the second one I ordered was delivered but had no pen in the box. So a THIRD one was ordered and hopefully this one isn't stolen. Very comfortable in my hand or in my pocket. Doesn't poke around while in walking and the writing performance is superb. The fact it uses G2 Gel refills is amazing? Very sharp and precise lines. Money well spent!

Great pen!
Great pen!And you didnt hear this from me... but this pen fits a MontBlanc rollerball refill really well. Just sand or slice off the top of the blue bit at the end of the refill or it wont sit all the way

Purchased two for gifts
Had to open the boxes before wrapping them up for Christmas and these pens look and feel awesome! The bolt action has a nice fidget factor and being brass they are shiny and a little heavier than the average good refillable pen.I have noticed over time that heavier pens are easier to write with, and harder to lose out of a pocket. Also the pocket clips seemed sturdy at a glance. Time will tell. They’re not “tactical pens” per se but the weight and sturdiness if these pens could make them useful in a kubaton role if necessary.Refillable is nice in this age of cheap disposable junk.Though I did not write with them, I have zero issues recommending.Maybe the bolt action mechs would want a drop of sewing machine or gun oil now and then, and the brass should present a nice patina over time.So yes, I like these pens.

This is one sharp tip
The bold action has a hard right angle rather than a rounded one so I find it a big hard on the thumb skin to work. Love the weight of the pen and the feel, also the diameter is not outrageous. The sharp point does not write well for me and I think I'd be much better off with a softer gel ink. Overall this pen has a great look and feel to it but the action was not well refined and the writing experience sloppy.

Great inexpensive machined pen
It's a bare brass pen, satisfying mechanism, might need a tiny bit of grease in the mechanism to keep it operating smoothly. I found the ribbing on the grip section is way too sharp though. Smoothing those ribs off would make it much more comfortable. In fact that's what I did with some sandpaper. The pen is also very back-heavy due to the added brass bolt action mechanism in the back, but I'd imagine this is consistent will all bolt action machined pens.I'm overall happy with the purchase.

Der perfekte Stift
Die Kombination des sauber verarbeiteten, soliden Gehäuses mit den Pilot G 2 Minen ergibt ein gut in der Hand liegendes gut schreibendes Schreibgerät.

Find an aluminum pen instead
I like the look and shape of it, but it is very heavy, and the copper in the brass reacts with skin oils to produce a 'metallic' smell.I could get used to the weight, but the smell was too much, and I got an aluminum one instead

Very heavy!
The pen is solid and very heavy, but using it gives me pains in the center of my hand.
