I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for full ice cubes and not bullets.
We have only had this for a few months and I could not be happier. It makes full ice cubes if you extend the time. It has an automatic shut off and a self clean mode. It’s not noisy at all. It was super easy to plug in. Fill water and get set up. The icemaker itself definitely has some weight to it, but that just shows the good quality.

Preferred Price Range
Having used a $50 ice maker and a $250 ice maker, I'd say this is the sweet spot. The ice maker maintains the same width and depth as other small budget friendly options, but adding the water on top means more ice basket space and you can see the water level; since the water basin is removable, a dedicated person could upgrade the water basin. The ice area is also somewhat insulated so the ice will melt, but it will take a while. The scoop does a good job breaking up the ice too; speaking of, the ice is crystal clear. Lastly, there is a mechanism to detect when the tray is full which should prevent issues after long enough use.Not everything is perfect. Keep the manual because the control panel isn't intuitive, and sometimes I question myself when I try to open the lid and my fingers just slide up the plastic like pulling a push door with a pull handle. The scoop annoys me to scoop with so I've turned to dumping the basket, or using my hands. Also, the water basin when empty doesn't sit flush meaning it uses the weight of the water to secure the basin in place; I see a potential for leakage there, but it hasn't happened in 2 days. The unit's fan and running water does create mild noise comparatively, but the ice dropping is noticably louder. Lastly there is an option to control the "thickness" of the ice, but it really controls how deep the divet in the center of the cube is as well as how long the process lasts before dropping the ice.Using a meter, I measured less than 1W idling, and 150-170W while operating. After a full 24 hours of use where I more or less emptied the ice more than usual (first 4 times for cleanliness, then to stockpile) as well as subtracted 1 minute from the ice making process, I measured about 0.87KW.My negative paragraph was longer, but only because I expected a little more having upgraded from the $50 ice maker. However, this feels like a good upgrade as now I have more ice ready for longer and don't have to remove the basket to check the water level. The reduced noise for the most part has also been peaceful.

I am happy with my purchase.
I bought this ice maker because my old bullet one died. I had my old one for a few years and used it on a daily basis. I was looking for another good ice machine that could make better ice and be as efficient as my old one. I got this one yesterday and installed it right away. I like it. The sound level is like my old one, so it does not bother me at all. I like the size; it is a bit smaller, so it takes less space on my small counter. The ice it makes, I believe it is better than the bullet one. The cubes are a great size, and I think that because they can be thicker, they work better than the bullet ones. It also makes more ice because they are squares instead of bullets. I like that the ice it makes is with "running" water instead of "stuck" water. This machine run the water from the reservoir to make the ice, my old one had a different system and I like this one better. Over all I think it was a great investment for the price. I agree that the instructions are not as clear. I understood it right away because of the other comments and what I read on the manual. Between both readings I was able to figure it our fast and I also had my experience with my old one.

Fast and Great Quality of Large Ice Cubes
We love our new ice maker. We put it at the sink and made bag after bag one day for an up coming party there was no leaking so it didn'tneed to be by the sink. I'm sure it could have kept up for the gathering, but we wanted to see how well it worked ahead of time. So easy to use, and filling it was easier than any of our previous ice makers. The quality also surpassed the previous models. It holds a lot of water, but what made it nicer was we could easily see when we had to add more. The quality of ice is better than the quality of the photo.

Very noisy!
It’s OK but VERY noisy. Ice cubes are all stuck together not separated, you have to break them off. It makes the ice fairly fast.

The ice really is clear.
I was hesitant about buying, since several reviewers didn't like it. But I'm tired of filling ice cube trays, so I took a chance. I don't know yet about durability, but I love the ice this machine makes. It really is clear. And I like being able to use filtered water for it. (My refrigerator doesn't make ice; it's a simple older model.) I don't find the noise level disturbing; I'll only have to use the machine once or twice a week.
