Printer was not functioning (firmware) and have to return it.
Out of Stock and still waiting for replacement from Canon. Really surprised and missed a Photography Print Competition as a result.

Amazing printer
This is an amazing printer that produces incredible prints. My prior experiences were with epson photo printers, which frankly were just as good in terms of print quality. What I enjoy about the canon printers is the paper feed—it doesn’t cause damage to the paper regardless of size, and always results in a perfect print. I often print on 5x7 and 8.5x11 inch papers to proof the print and insure I’m getting what I see on the screen. When satisfied I move to bigger papers for final prints. With the epson printers this was not a straightforward process, especially with smaller paper sizes. The canon is easy to use and handles my printing tasks easily and effectively.

Printing issues for larger paper
Print quality is great when it works. When printing 17x22" pictures with every setting and permutation, the printer produces unacceptable banding, ruining the print. There doesn't appear to be a solution to this at this time. Disappointing.

Canon came thru (was: Canon not supporting warranty replacement, even though I even have a CarePak.)
I bought this printer to start up a graphics business out of my home. I was really looking forward to printing high quality photos and other graphics with the printer. When I first got it set up, it printed fine from one computer in my home. The quality is indeed amazing. I was very happy. But then I went to set it up with a second computer, and from the beginning, I have struggled to get it printing correctly. Sometimes the second computer won't even find the printer, sometimes the computer says it printed and nothing comes out, sometimes it prints fine for a few pages, and then mid-page it gives up and stops printing, other times is just kicks out blank pages, and other times it prints garbage. However, over time, the FIRST computer starting exhibiting the same problems!I finally called Canon, and at first their tech support was good. A man on the other end took control of my computer via remote access and he saw exactly what I was experiencing. But subsequent chats and calls have led nowwhere. They keep saying, "try this and see if it works." I try, and the same things happens - sometimes immediately, sometimes a few pages later.I get it, intermittent problems are hard to fix, and with the complexities of computers, software, routers, drivers, etc., it's not easy. However, I bought this December 16th 2024 from Amazon, and I still am not able to print reliabily.I've gone through and wasted literally hundreds of pages of high quality double sided glossy letter sized paper, and wasted who knows how much ink (no cartridges are still the ones that came with the printer, and some cartridges, like black and the chroma optomizer I've burned through as many as five or six cartridges, and they are expensive as you know! I will say that when it prints fine, I keep those pages , so not all the paper and ink has been wasted, but quite a bit - maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of the printing I've tried.I have spent likely 40 or more hours troubleshooting this myself, and then at least 10 hours chatting with tech support and / or on the phone. And again, their own tech support, remote desktopping in, could "see" the same things I was.But as of writing this email, Canon STILL has not approved replacing the printer. They are still giving me the run around. So if you buy one of these, I hope it works for you. But if you have problems, expect a high cost in wasted paper, ink, and your time.3/3/2025 Update: About 30 minutes after I posted what's above, Canon emailed me that they would be sending a new printer. And they were good to their word. They even shipped it overnight from NY to CO. Now the bad news. The new printer did the same thing - so it wasn't hardware as I suspected. Given that, I wanted to dig into the issue myself. I solicited ChatGPT to help me, as its knowledge database is much greater than mine. I won't bore you with all the details, but we started with some error messages that were logged into the Windows 11 Event Viewer, and we went from there. The bottom line after lots of work and documenting our steps (and why), we cleaned both a desktop and a W11 tablet of all the leftovers, and with reinstalls after that of the Canon driver, *poof*, both computers print fine now. I printed over 250 pages from one printer and now I'm at another 100+ pages from the other computer. So it appears that I have things fixed.I have raised my review from 1 star to 3. Why not 5-stars? It prints great and I'm very happy. However, this hassle cost me a bundle in lost times, wasted paper, and wasted ink. And I've also learned that it uses a lot more ink than I expected, and I'm sure this exercise cost me over $500 in ink (if not more). If you're looking for a great printer, this should be just what you need. Just don't underestimate how much ink you'll go through, and hopefully, you'll get it to work without issues as you install drivers.

Professional quality prints
Set up was a breeze. I print once a week and no clog issues. Printer is built like a tank. All in all very happy with it so far.
