Should you read this book???? YESSS
Book Review: Quicksilver by Callie HartQuicksilver is a gripping Enemies-to-lovers romantasy that follows Saeris Fane, a 24 year old who will do almost anything for a cup of water, and Kingfisher who is too handsome for Death himself. The story unfolds as Saeris unbeknownst to her abilities opens the gateways between worlds and gets trapped with kingfisher and must help him win a war to find her way home, leading to a story filled with self-discovery of a badass FMC, fun side characters and delicious banter. What I Liked:• I liked that the world building was easy to digest for the first part of the book. Leaving me to get trapped in the world and not want to put the book down.• Saeris is such a great character. I enjoyed how she takes no shit and felt relatable throughout the story.• But the real winning character is Carrion. He is so full of himself and I love it. And he is hilarious and such a shameless flirt but that is his charm. I can’t wait to see what happens to him in book two. What I Didn’t Like:• Now for what I didn’t like, unfortunately I didn’t like was the moment our two MC got together. I felt as if I might have missed something in how one moment they are bickering and the next they are having sex. I know they had some scenes earlier in the book that they kissed but where is the tension after that kiss and then them giving in. It was almost too easy for them to get together.Callie’s writing is captivating, and the characters are well- developed while staying relatable. The plot is predictable in some parts but keeps you satisfied, keeping readers hooked with every twist and turn especially within the last 100 pages.Overall, Quicksilver is perfect for readers who enjoy morally gray characters, witty side charters and a female character who is stuck in the middle of it all.Rating: ★★★★★My rating system:★- DNF★★- Finished but it was a struggle★★★- It was a good book but probably would not read again★★★★- It was good and I would read it again★★★★★- Brain shattering and I need every copy made if this book

Absolutely Fabulous
Okay, I've finished dipping my toes into the reviews of others and just diving straight in.It seems that readers are very passionate about either their total love and devotion and wanting to make this much loathed kindling...I absolutely loved this beautiful book! It was unputdownable, and almost every page bore shades of foreshadowing and layering that is simply breathtaking. I've never annotated a book before, ever. And these days, with all the books on my TBR pile, I don't ever reread. This book was life changing in all the best ways. I don't care that it was tropey. Every single one was well executed. The hero was drool worthy and just delicious! I need to begin this book again because I know it'll be a completely different experience now that all the twists and bumps have been traversed. There are so many quotes that I can't get out of my head and I wouldn't want to, either. The heroine was fabulous, snarky, and tough but so very likable and relatable. The way she sees things is highly intriguing. And their friends added witty banter and richly painted the backdrop. How could you possibly choose a favorite!?I can't wait for the second book because that ending blew me away! I cried, and I laughed, and I hugged the book with all my roiling emotions. Now, I will note that some paragraph bridging and deeper descriptions with more vivid body cues wouldn't have ruined this at all. But I'm choosing to adore this book and sing it's praises because it really does outshine all the negative aspects. At the end of the day, if a book brings you joy, positively captures you, tugs on your heartstrings, then haven't you been whisked away and entertained!?

Not all Romantasy is meant for me... Overall Great Read!
After finishing Onyx Storm, I was excited to dive into Quicksilver, especially after seeing it all over BookTok. The plot, the banter, and the spice were all definitely up my alley, but I have to admit that the fae with their pointy ears didn’t quite hit the mark for me.The story centers around Saeris Fane, a skilled thief with some hidden magical talents who accidentally stumbles into a fae realm. There, she meets Kingfisher, a brooding fae warrior, and is quickly drawn into a world full of magic, danger, and secrets. Their chemistry was undeniable. I loved the tension between them and the way their relationship developed slowly, with plenty of witty back-and-forth along the way. When the romance finally heated up, it was perfectly balanced, spicy without being over the top.The world-building in Quicksilver was really strong, and I found myself sucked into the intricacies of the magic system and the political drama of the fae realm. Saeris's role as an alchemist added an interesting twist to the traditional fantasy tropes, and her dynamic with Kingfisher was definitely one of the highlights of the book. That being said, there were a few moments where the pacing slowed down for me, especially in the middle. Some parts of the plot felt repetitive, and I found myself wanting things to pick up again. Also, while I know the fae element is central to the story, I’m just not a fan of the traditional fae with pointy ears. It’s a personal preference, but it did make it harder for me to fully connect with the world.Overall, Quicksilver was an enjoyable read. The romance was solid, the characters were engaging, and the world-building was well done. If you’re a fan of fantasy with fae lore and slow-burn romance, I think you’ll really enjoy this one.
