very comfortable and great for aching hands
I thought no way square needles could help my hands feel better when knitting. I have arthritis from lyme, and any time I get a autoimmune flare my joints hurt. Surprise, surprise, they make my hands feel way better and I can knit for longer. The edges don't hurt, and I don't have to grip them nearly as much as round needles so my hands are more relaxed. They are great! I am slowly replacing all my regular dpns with square ones. So far, I have not had any of the Knitters Pride cubics break, and none have had any rough edges (although I always check them when they first arrive by running some yarn over them, just to make sure, so I can return them if necessary) . I love that these are wood - they are much warmer than metal, and don't drop stitches very easily like metal does. They also come five to a set, which is great since some knitters like to knit in the round with four needles and some like five. I like four, but this way I have an "extra" needle just in case... like when my husband sat on my kitting a couple of weeks ago and broke one of my needles! (it was a 2.75mm needle - very thin. they aren't especially delicate but they are wood) One thing to keep in mind is sizing - because of the way the yarn drapes over the square needles versus the round needles, the gauge can come out differently. I'm a somewhat loose knitter, so yarn drapes loosely on each side, and the gauge is pretty similar for me. If you are a tight knitter, it will pull the yarn hard against each side, and each stitch will be smaller - you may want to go up a size. The type of yarn you are using could also potentially matter, since different materials have different drape, but so far it hasn't made a difference to me that I can tell. Try googling "round square knitting needles conversion" to find a good article on this if you want more information. Over all, high recommended, Fantastic knitting needles!

Cubics are the best.
Wish they were metal, but really love the feel of cubics. I get tendonitis and these help! I own many sets.

Wonderful needles
The wood is smooth but still grips slippery yarn. The Cubics feel nice in my hands, they're not cramping up at all

Comfortable
I love the square needle. Easy to use and the sharp points are an added bonus.

They could be a bit pointier
They could be a bit pointier, but their squared-off shape makes them easy to hold and and helps keep the stitches on the needles.

Smooth needles…can’t wait to use them.
First order, one of the needle tips was broken.

Square knitting needles
Cubic shape works well to prevent dropped stitches. I prefer a sharper point, but that is a personal choice.
