Sold as New but Received a Modified and Defective Laptop – Extremely Disappointing Amazon Purchase
I purchased a new ASUS Vivobook laptop through Amazon on October 6, 2025, advertised with 2TB storage and 24GB RAM. Shortly after receiving it, the computer began showing memory errors and crashing. ASUS later confirmed the laptop had been modified with non-factory RAM, even though it was sold as new. I never opened or altered the device. I am very disappointed to have received a modified product instead of a factory-new computer and hope this issue can be resolved with a proper replacement or full refund.

I ended up returning the laptop. The chip was just barely able to run Windows 11. I did not like the touch pad which was the only way to get a numbers pad. The screen was smaller than the windows 10 laptop, I needed to replace. The other laptops that I have used allow me to completely fold the computer 360 degress. That is a feature that I will always have in a computer. If the keyboard goes out on the laptop, you can use a keyboard and mouse to use the computer, by folding the laptop. It did not have a touch screen, which I had gotten used to using. My prior foldable laptop keyboard got so it had a key which did not work will. I was able to use a regular keyboard and mouse to continue to use it for a very long time, by folding it under. It had been a week from the time, I had mailed it back. I called Amazon, and they said that would give me a refund. I am writing this review with three stars to let you know that Amazon treats it customers will. Furthermore, I did not remember how valuable fold back screen and touch screen was to me. It did not have enough computer power to run Windows 11. It did not have the power to do complicated games.
