Great concept but doesn’t fit external battery packs
First off this is a really nice charging case for your MetaQuest 3. The case has pins that connect to your headset to charge and comes with rechargeable batteries for the controllers as well. The whole thing takes up very little space and is great for taking it with you on the road. The case itself needs to be plugged in to charge the headset. It has a spot inside for the charger that comes with the headset which is a nice touch to keep everything organized. Now the bad, I’m using a Kiwi headband that has the battery mounted on the back. Unfortunately this makes the headset too large to put in the case and charge so to use this I need to take the new headband off and then can’t charge the extra battery at the same time. It’s kind of a me thing at this point so it may very well work for you if you’re using the OEM head strap.Overall I would recommend this because it’s well built, has the batteries for the controllers, and looks really cool when you’re charging. Keep in mind that if you’re using a non-OEM head strap then it may not fit your headset. If it fits your needs though, this case is a home run!

Huge Potential, Failed Execution
This seems awesome in concept: an aesthetically pleasing case that can be used everyday to charge the headset and controllers. However, the design choices, build, and quality control all crashed.First of all, the entire unit was dead on arrival. The headset and controllers would not charge when placed in their respective slots. The RGB would not light up. My charger was fine as I tested it with other usb devices.Next, it was delivered in a box with minimal foam padding. Luckily, Amazon encased it in another box when shipped. But that didn't prevent the RGB lighting cover to dislodge (my guess as seen in the photo)Now comes the design blunders:* My head strap would have to be adjusted/shorten or carefully weaved (as shown in the photo) to fit into the grooves. This is a major hassle.* Even if the headstraps were in-place, the top strap had to be finagled to allow the lid to close. You see there is a support piece that protrudes into the bottom section.* There is a push toggle mechanism to open and close the lid. Push it to open and then push it again to close. I find this useless for any kind of storage use cases as any bump or contact will open the case. Moreover, the robustness of latch is questionable: tiny plastic hooks onto other tiny plastic anchor. This lid is merely a dust cover.* If anyone uses the handle in the back, then all the contents inside can fall out as I explain in the prior point that the closing mechanism is shady.* It came with rechargeable batteries for the controllers, but the replacement covers that has electrodes making contact with these batteries bulge out. I can feel the gap when using the controllers.Anyway, I return it was a complete dud.

A Convenient Charging Dock for Quest 3, But Not Ideal for Every Setup
I’ve been using the charging dock for my Quest 3 for a bit now, and it’s mostly been a positive experience, with a few hiccups along the way. First off, the overall design is sleek and compact, which I really appreciate. It’s great having a spot to both charge and store my Quest 3 without cables everywhere. The built-in RGB lighting looks cool, though I personally wish there was a way to turn it off—it’s a bit much when you’re trying to keep things low-key.One of the highlights for me is the rechargeable batteries that come with the dock. They’re easy to install with the replacement battery door covers, and I haven’t had any issues with charging. The fact that these batteries can be recharged over 1000 times is a solid plus, especially if you’re like me and hate dealing with disposable ones. The charge times aren’t bad either—it takes around 3.5 hours for the controllers and 4 hours for the headset, and I’ve been getting about 36 hours of use on a full charge. Here’s where things get a bit tricky. I use an upgraded head strap with my Quest 3, and that made fitting everything into the dock a challenge. The charging station is really designed for the original strap, and while it technically works with mine, I had to remove the transparent cover to make extra room. Even then, it’s a tight squeeze, especially width-wise because of the connectors on the upgraded strap. When I do manage to fit it in, it’s not always easy to get the charging pins to align properly. There’s a bit too much play, and I find myself adjusting things to make sure it’s actually charging.I imagine that with the original Quest 3 head strap, this would be a perfect solution. Everything would probably fit without the hassle, and you wouldn’t have to worry about the alignment issue I’ve been dealing with. So if you’re using the stock setup, I think you’d have a much smoother experience.Summary: Overall, this charging dock does the job well, especially if you’re using the original head strap. The rechargeable batteries are a great feature, and the compact design makes it easy to keep things organized. However, if you’ve upgraded your head strap, be prepared for some challenges with fit and alignment. And while the RGB lighting is fun, it’d be nice to have an option to turn it off. If you’re looking for a solid charging station and aren’t dealing with a bulky head strap, this is worth considering!
