I wore these totally inappropriate cheap rubber palmed gardening gloves which to be fair were not designed for the work I just mentioned. So when I got the umpteenth splinter in my thumb and it took me the usual three days to get it out I decided to spend some money and get something decent. Well I have used them on three occasions now, and no splinters. may the Lord and BearHoHo be praised. One of my colleagues has already asked where I got them from and I assume he will be following suit.
