I grounded mine when I installed it outdoors. You do need to ground it. **Q: The description says 'supports passive poe to power the switch', does that mean actual passive poe, or does it support 802.3at/af standard to power it** A: I'm using 48v 60 watt POE inserter, to run switch and 4 POE camera.
