Laetrile is the concentrated form and official name of what is referred to as vitamin B-17, which occurs in the seeds of certain types of fruit, as well as in various grasses. In this highly readable exposé, first published in 1974, the (predictably) maligned G. Edward Griffin cool-headedly details the horrifying success with which the American pharmaceutical industry, through the aegis of the Food and Drug Administration, continues its savage repression of this life-saving – and, significantly, non-patentable – nutrient, in the interests of sustaining and increasing the colossal profits made from synthetic (and often extremely harmful) medications and drugs.
