Works for me
I have read the reviews previously on here regarding this product which were less than favourable, however having suffered from the pain of an ingrown big toe nail, decided to give it a go.Well, you get a 3 stage product 1: a spray to relieve the pain, 2: some glue to stick the clip in place, and 3: the clip itself. When you look at the size of the clip you think it is to small to fit a big toe especially if your nails are curved. This is how I approached the task: I firstly sprayed on the area of pain to help relieve this, then practised sliding one of the clips over and under the nail, I found you could get one side under and to remain but the other kept popping out. I realised that it would need gluing in place to keep it there, please be careful with the glue as I guess its a form of super glue try not to get it everywhere as you do not need me to tell you of the consequences. What I found best was to push the clip in place and hold it there and then apply glue around it, still holding until it had set, 3 days later still in place despite wearing shoes and getting in the bath. I felt relief almost immediately where it removed the pressure of the nail into the skin, it was little tender if I pressed it but now 3 days later I feel like its a wonder cure.I will need to update this over the coming weeks as the nail grows, but I feel confident already that this will have done the trick.

These did work for me...
I have waited 6 months before writing this to give it a full chance to work.I had 2 ingrown toenails, the left being the worst. I have to admit to being sceptical as to whether this would work but I had tried several things without success. After soaking my foot for 20 minutes I then tried to get the first clip onto the nail. It was difficult and then thought I had managed only to find the clip had snapped. Attempt 2 was much better. I found that by sliding 1 edge of the clip onto the nail where it's curved worst and then lifting it to slide on the other edge had much better success. This was a process I repeated on future occasions each one successfully. As the day went on, I started to get quite uncomfortable. Reading through the instructions again it did say this was possible, so a couple of painkillers later and I was fine and had no other pain for the rest of the time that I used them.I was a little concerned that the clip would protrude inside my shoes and be painful. No worries, I wore a variety of shoes, boots, trainers, ski boots and especially golf shoes and there was never any problem. For the first time in several years I was able to walk around pain free. It was great. I completed 6 weeks and thought about stopping them, but decided to carry on for another few weeks. In fact, I continued from May to the end of August changing the clips every 10 - 14 days. The two problems I experienced were the clips could break when exercising or the glue didn't always keep the clip on the nail and I frequently found it off the nail inside a sock. However, the advantage of walking pain free far outweighed these little inconveniences.I have now been without the clips for 3 months and my nail is still maintaining its shape and not returning to curl inward. I will occasionally lift the corner to flatten it out a little but it has not returned to the painful position it once had. The Scholl Kit was undoubtedly a huge success for me.

Clips impossible to put on
Been using the spray to ease the pain but I have made many attempt to put the clips on with no joy.

Works just fine!
I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews because this was just fine to use. Have only used for a week so can’t comment on the results just yet, but I’m not having any problems using. It fits my big toe just fine. Doesn’t go across the length of the toe but it’s long enough to straighten both sides of the nail. When I first tried to put it on, I couldn’t figure it out and it took several goes. Finally managed to do it by sliding one side under the nail, before trying to pull up my nail to push the other side under. Once I figured out the technique, I had no problems applying the clips. When I first used the first clip, the toe was so so sore the next morning and for the rest of the day (and the following day too) but I just powered through. The info pack does say it’ll be uncomfortable for the first couple of days of first use and boy it really was. However, after a few days, I barely felt it. I now only feel it if I’m wearing tights or shoes that squeeze my toe, so that the clip is being pushed into the skin. Otherwise, I forget it’s there! It’s also easy to remove. Just keep rubbing acetone over it and it’ll come off.Too soon to tell if it’s straightening my toenail, but I am hopeful!

Do not even bother
The clips that come with this product are literally impossible to use. They are so flat that it is impossible to even get them onto your toenails. One of the main reasons a person starts to get an ingrown toenail is because of the nail curvature leading to the nail digging into the skin. Everyone I know has slightly curved toenails and my toenails are quite curvy naturally. The clips do not go on. I tried for about half an hour and even got my mum in to try and help me. Trying to put these on caused me more pain then the actual toenail does itself. I am surprised this product was even released to the product. I actually read over the reviews previously and thought 'surely they cant be that unusable' but yes they are. Waste of my money entirely and I will also be writing a complaint to Scholl themselves.

I did use a nail clamp I ordered from amazon to straighten the nail Before clipping the scholl clip on because my nail was extremely ingrown (no exaggeration it was like a c shape) but as soon as I was able to get it glued in place it hurt a little and was sensitive for first two days... NOW MY NAIL IS LIKE BRAND NEW THANKS TO THIS PRODUCT. 👏🏼😁 iv worked like a surgeon on my toe over the last six years trying to fix this problem and was to afraid to go seek medical help but now MY NAIL IS FIXED👍🏼😁hope this helps anyone who’s suffering.
