Review: Very good price - My partner said it’s a beautiful drink Review: Beautifully rich and warming - This is a lovely sipping bourbon and the fact it is aged really comes through in the way the flavour blooms in your mouth. There isn't much initial aroma from it and it does feel a little thin on the nose. The initial sip when it hits your mouth also feels very thin flavour wise but as you swallow then the depth really bursts in to life in your mouth. It is all in the back of the drink and this makes it perfect for slowly sipping . There is also a lovely warmth as it goes down, a really old fashioned nightcap warmth. My husband does like to mix this with a full sugar cola flavoured drink and whilst it is pleasing I much prefer a small pour over ice to take my time with. The bottle is also beautifully textured with a pattern that is reminiscent of sunlight dappled on slow flowing water. We did have some issues opening the wax seal on the bottle as it is fairly resistant to being pulled off but I got there in the end.
