Bridges: A History of the World's Most Spectacular Spans

This book is very tall and the inside must be turned landscape to view the stunning color photos and read the details pertaining to each of the bridges.I bought this as a gift for an aspiring civil engineer and was impressed by the high quality of the color photos throughout the book.

Tells a story seldom told, of the spans between the places we go. A gorgeous, and expansive book, which is in itself is an achievement on the topic.

Wow just wow. My 7 year old autistic son is obsessed with bridges. We talk about bridges from morning to night. He has even learned how to drive all over state on Google street view just to see the various bridges. I had been looking for a decent bridge book to gift him. The kid books just.didn't cut it. He is at school now and I cannot sit still waiting to give him this book. I am sure this will become his companion for years. Thank you so much Judith Dupre for creating such a beautifully eye appeasing collection. I am one happy momma.

This is a large, beautiful book in Awesome condition. It came packaged very well. There are lots of stunning pictures of awesome bridges with interesting written descriptions.

This book has encouraged me to do a 'bridge tour' - of at least the US and Canada - more if I can get there! Bridges are magnificent things - and for those that enjoy engineering excellence as having a beauty of its own, this history is a treasure. Engineers are not generally thought of as aesthetically oriented, but some have become comfortable enough with their engineering knowledge that we obtain the benefit of getting to our destination sooner and enjoying the beauty of a bridge along the way.

Gave as a gift to an engineer who designs and builds bridges. She absolutely loves it. This is a large size book and would be great on a coffee table. The pictures inside are fabulous quality and clarity. The printed information is wonderful. 5 stars, 5 thumbs up, and fifty smiles. Would highly recommend.

Book is great. Condition in which is was shipped was not! No bubble wrapping, and why that matters is, if you're going to ship it along with six 3.5lbs bags of cat litter, the book should be secured better. Slightly damaged on the ends, but not bad enough to return.

This is a really great book if you have an interest I'm bridges. The pictures are beautiful and descriptions are quite interesting!

The first one delivered was not wrapped in brown paper but using brown paper scrunched up, put in a box 6 times bigger than book. Book arrived with multiple tears in cover.Second book delivered in 24 hours, THANKS, wrapped in brown paper, still loose in a box 6 tiimes to big, rattled around, LUCKILY no tears. Need better packaging.Its' a coffee table book so the cover should be perfect.

This book is 100% more in every way than I thought it would be. It’s big. Really well put together. Great pictures and lots of them! Very informative.I bought this as a present and it made me like bridges!
