These are great!!
I love these! I think the price is decent for this set of colour pencils! They colour smoothly and look nice! They blend well into each other and I found it to be easier to use compared to other colour pencils brands (Though, this is my first set of oil based colour pencils.) It even comes with a swatch chart (The colour range is good too)! You’ll probably have to sharpen them a bit frequently because the lead is soft. I definitely recommend this for beginners, if you want to try out oil based colour pencils or if you’re on a budget!

I love all of my Kalour pencils. They color smoothly. The colors are very pretty. My favorite is the pastels.

Almost Perfect
The colors are beautiful, exactly the shades I’m looking for that don’t exist in my current collection. When you use them on paper and on your sample card they lay down nicely. But if you are using them on Bible paper, they don’t show up well. The image compares similar colors from prismacolor on the left with these in the right. Pinholes leaves a lot of wacky on the page so they lay down bold on any surface. These don’t have the same texture and require more pressure. Even with a good amount of pressure they stay very pale on Bible paper and you don’t want to press too hard and tear your pages. What I’ve decided to do is keep these for background coloring which prismacolor isn’t good for because I find it overpowers the artwork. I want faint background colors. There are darker colors in this collection that will show up darker than this, but these 3 colors on paper show up more bold than on Bible paper so I expect everything to show up more faint than typical from this collection. The colors I sampled on Bible paper which you can compare to the card were sky blue light, eggshell, and blush pink.

I like these Kalour pencils!
I like Kalour color pencils in general. These are great also. The colors are very pretty and when sharpening them after using them they are very durable and don't break. I have no problems overall with their sharpness the amout of money I paid for them was pretty inexpensive. I definitely recommend them.

35 portrait tones plus a colorless blender
35 colors is enough for learning or becoming more skilled at portraiture. These are the expected colors one would look for in such a set, with the addition of a colorless blender. Portraits almost always need blending of some sort, so this is a welcome addition to the set. The colors range from palest yellow and very pale blue to dark browns and blues. ochres and grays. I think it is a good palette. The pencils are on the hard side, without being too hard. They are pigmented according to their colors. The lightest pencils have light pigment, while the darker colors have a richer pigment. The pencils take a sharp point without breaking or wearing down quickly, so they should last. They blend easily, especially with the colorless blender. One thing that should be noted: the colorless blender does not have the Kalour brand on it, nor any other brand, just a number, 001. Just an FYI. It does work well enough, in the softer part of mid-range for blenders.

This KALOUR PDAS 36-piece Yellow Landscape Coloured Pencil Set, is more than a collection of beautifully hued pencils. I see it as a gateway to quiet engagement, making it a thoughtful gift for someone spending time convalescing. And though the beautiful photo images and product details provide much information on what you do get including: • 35 gorgeaus and vibrant colours – even looking at them raises your endorphins 😉 • Colourless blending pencil • Step-by-step tutorial on blending • DIY colour-chart 👉Aside from the obvious features, included below is a list of useful (but perhaps less obvious) benefits of these pencils. First Impressions & The Feel: When you hold these pencils, they feel solid and well-balanced, not flimsy. The basswood casing is smooth, which is important because for long periods of use, comfort in hand prevents fatigue. They come pre-sharpened, which is a small but significant detail for immediate use – no fumbling with a sharpener when someone might not have the energy. The unique number and colour name on each pencil are genuinely helpful, especially when you're trying to replicate a shade or follow a tutorial. Colour Performance Beyond "Vibrant" The "smooth, soft core" isn't just marketing speak; these pencils lay down colour with a satisfying, almost buttery glide. This means less pressure is needed, which is a huge plus for someone who might have limited strength or dexterity during recovery. The colours themselves are richly pigmented, allowing for good coverage without excessive layering. They blend surprisingly well, especially with the included colourless blender pencil, which truly helps soften edges and create smooth transitions. This ease of blending is key for beginners, as it makes achieving satisfying results much less intimidating. The "Extras" in Practice (What You Don't Expect): The included step-by-step tutorial and DIY colour chart are not just throw-ins; they genuinely elevate this set. The tutorial provides a tangible starting point, guiding you through a project without needing to search online or feel overwhelmed by a blank page. The colour chart encourages exploration and understanding of the palette, which is a quiet, engaging activity in itself. These elements reduce the barrier to entry if you're new to drawing or colouring, or if you're returning to the hobby Durability & Sharpening: While the ad says "easy to sharpen," in practice, this means the basswood doesn't splinter or crack, and the soft core resists breaking during sharpening. This durability is crucial, as constant breakage can quickly lead to frustration and waste, especially when one's patience might be limited. Why This Set Truly Shines for Convalescence: For someone in recovery, engaging in a non-digital, absorbing activity can be profoundly therapeutic. My Recommendation: Absolutely Yes! This pencil set offers so many benefits, including: ♡ Mindful Engagement: a quiet, focused activity that can help redirect thoughts from discomfort or boredom. ♡ Low Pressure, High Reward: helpful tutorials mean satisfying results are achievable without intense effort, fostering a sense of accomplishment. ♡ Accessible Creativity: no complex setup or steep learning curve, and you can pick them up or put them down as energy levels allow. ♡ Sensory Comfort: the smooth glide of the pencils and the tactile experience of drawing can be calming. ♡ Non-Screen Time: a valuable alternative to screen time, promoting mental rest and a different kind of stimulation

Lovely selection of coloured pencils. Nice to sharpen with a Kalour sharpener, (horrible to sharpen with other brands) Strong colours too.

Like all Kalour products you get a big bang for your buck. I love these Kalour pencils as the lay down is outstanding for the price you pay. For a budget pencil it out performs some of the top more expensive brands.
