I bought this ricer specifically for mashed potatoes. I live in an apartment with limited cabinet space, and it didn’t make sense to get a food mill for the amount of money they are and the lack of space I have. I have to admit, having never bought a product from Vita Saggia, I was a little wary. The package arrived on time, and I was very impressed with the quality of the ricer. It is made of stainless steel and is of an intelligent design. It is easy to clean and makes mashed potatoes SO much better than a potato masher. I mean seriously, the difference is crazy! So smooth, no lumps, just the kind of mashed spuds you want to cozy up with some gravy! I was worried about how easy it would be to clean, but it’s a breeze. Definitely worth the purchase if you are into perfectly mashed potatoes!

I bought this Ricer to make my mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving, but I love it so much I use it everytime to make mashed potatoes! I also riced my sweet potatoes and they were velvety smooth and light as a mousse! The handle is long and easy to press even with a full receptacle of potato. It's AMAZING what a difference it makes in my mashed potatoes texture! Easy to clean too, I just wash in warm soapy water and let it dry. Diswasher safe as well! This ricer is PERFECT!! So happy with it and so affordable!

I have a torn rotator cuff and I am still able to use it. Very easy to use, easy cleaning, very sturdy.

Very happy with this purchase. It rices potatoes very well. It’s very sturdy and I think will hold up well. I’ve used it several times and after each use have put in the dishwasher to clean and it’s come out clean, that is a huge bonus to me as I would not want to clean this by hand. Highly recommended.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this ricer. I was skeptical at first (as I consider myself an expert on mashed potatoes), but this was perfect. I will never use my hand held masher (or mixer) again to make mashed potatoes. The texture of the mashed potatoes was the smoothest I have even gotten. It was easy to use but you will need to make sure that you cut larger pieces when boiling potatoes, as that makes it easier to transfer into the ricer. There were zero clumps and the texture was SMOOTH!!! If you’re like me and you read every review, know that I’m the same and I have used this masher on multiple occasions. It holds up nicely and is really easy to clean. Now, it is a bulky item so you will need a deeper drawer in which to store it between uses.

I bought this to make a family recipe of potato dumplings with plums, but tested it on mashed potato’s first. Worked great! No lumps.

Bought in Dec, 2018. Used for Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and a couple of family dinners, one of which is tonight. We're low-carb people so not a lot of use. However, I loved the ease and the result. Ricing is a time-saver and this worked perfectly for a little over 2.5 years, maybe 10 uses. Then it broke, cracked where the handle goes around the basket while ricing soft cooked cubed potatoes. The crack might have started earlier. I really don't know. But this was unexpected.

I’d advise anyone to get a river with a built in plate because it is incredibly annoying that every time you put one lot of potatoes through it and then open it, the plate comes out stuck to the handle, so you have to burn your fingers trying to get it back in the right place

Very solid and easy to use. It makes mashed potatoes much smoother and more consistent compared to using a normal masher. Stainless steel feels sturdy and easy to clean after use.
